Patrol will require the vehicle, its title, driver’s license and a $10 fee.

Anyone who moves to the county from within Kansas can wait until licenses and registrations expire to renew them. However, drivers must call the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles to update addresses.

The Kansas Department of Revenue has a website at www.ksrevenue.org that will make changes easier. Fill out the information on the site and include an e-mail address. You will receive an e-mail confirmation of the new address, which can be printed and carried with your license. One can also visit www.wycokck.org for more information, including a fee estimator that will give ballpark figures on the cost of registration and property taxes.

Roving tag teams set up checkpoints in the county periodically to inspect driver’s licenses, proofs of insurance and vehicle registrations. They also look for consistency in the names and addresses on the documents.

I f a dr iver doesn’t have proper documentation, has received a ticket for lack of it or has lived in the county for more than six months without updating registration and license, he or she may be ticketed and the vehicle may be towed.

Cars usually are towed only after a driver has received a warning ticket without resolving it; if a driver has lived here for at least six months without updating necessary documents; or if vehicle tags are expired. For more information on registering a vehicle, telephone 913-573-2821 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Information about getting a Kansas driver’s license is available at the driver’s license examiner’s office at 1951 N. 63rd or by telephoning 913-287-2900. Hours are from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Tuesday through Friday.
