HCL Ranking = 4.12/10
HCL once again maintains its number one position in the fth Indian version o Greenpeace Guide toGreener Electronics. Its overall score has slightly increased since the last ranking mainly as it has impros take-back service by setting up collection centers and provided FAQs about e-waste and its take-bacervice. HCL has also provided more details on components o its products that are ree o PVC and BFalthough there are no models on the market yet) and has increased its list o products that are Energy S
ompliant, though it needs to do more to score points on these criteria. On all other criteria, HCL score ishe same as the last ranking. HCL continues to score poorly on the new climate and energy criteria and ho do a lot to improve its perormance on this issue.

HCLs Chemical policy
aims to ban/restrict chemi-
cals that have a negative
eect on the environment
and health. It also encour-
ages its supply chain to
comply with its require-

timeline. The company
provides two lists o haz-
ardous chemicals - chemi-
cals in class A which are
completely banned and
chemicals in class B which
are severely restricted
with a timeline given or

to extend its chemicals
management to a broader
range o potentially haz-

Wipro once again remains in second place just behind HCL, in the fth Indian version o Greenpeace Guo Greener Electronics. Its score has increased slightly since the last ranking due to its improved defnitio the Precautionary Principle. Wipro also scores well on its timeline or phasing out PVC and BFRs, but
ails to score points or PVC and BFR ree models on the market. It also continues to do well on the e-wariteria or its take-back policy and practice but needs be clearer in its inormation to customers, report o
