Haedo is a small city located in the district of Morón in the province of Buenos Aires.

The district of Morón is located in the centre of the metropolitan area of the province, west of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. It is made up of five cities: Castelar, El Palomar, Haedo, Morón and Villa Sarmiento. It is bounded by Hurlingham to the north, by Ituzaingó to the north-west, by Tres de Febrero to the north-east, by Merlo to the south-west, and by La Matanza to the south-east.

Access to housingThe Provincial Housing Institute provides families with the opportunity to access and own social houses.

Requirements for registration are as follows:● Being part of a family group;● Having an Argentinian identity card (DNI, in Spanish);● Being older than 18;● None of the members of the family group may be a beneficiary of any house or plot of land granted by the Argentine State;● None of the members of the family group may own real property.

Each municipality sets forth the complementary requirements subject to the specific details of each housing programme. To apply, you need to go the Town Hall of Morón, situated at 946 Almirante Brown.

Access to educationDay care facilities and nursery schools The education system of the municipality of Morón has six day care facilities (for children between 45 days and two years of age), seven nursery schools (for children between three and five years old), and 3 combined facilities (day care centre and nursery school for children between 45 days and 5 years of age).

Special education “Dr. Ramón Carrillo” Municipal School for Deaf and Hearing Impaired Children It is targeted at deaf and hearing impaired children. It has different education levels: initial, primary and vocational training levels. In addition, it provides comprehensive care for children under 3 years of age and an assistance service for children with speech disorders.

Municipal Special School “Mi futuro” (my future)This institution is targeted at children, adolescents and adults with educational needs derived from their disabilities, and it develops formal education tasks and vocational training activities. It offers early care and integration, primary school and a Comprehensive Training Centre (CFI, in Spanish).

“Atravesarte” Municipal Therapeutic Centre (non-formal space)This centre serves children between 3 and 14 years of age with severe emotional disturbances. These children are outside the school system, either because it is difficult for them to thrive at a normal school or because the special school programmes are not related to their conditions. It has a team of professionals: social workers, psychologists, music therapists and specialists in art and body expressions, who work on a case-by-case basis with each child for around a year in adequate educational spaces with the aim of enrolling them in school.

Primary health care centres Health care centres are the first level of complexity in the health care system. They are distributed throughout the district of Morón, with a stronger presence in the most vulnerable areas with greater urgencies.

Their services are aimed at promotion, prevention and on-going treatment of diseases, dental and obstetric emergencies, and even a radiology service so as to improve the quality of public health care services.

Emergency Medical Care System (SAME, in Spanish) The Emergency Medical Care System (SAME) is a free service providing assistance in the streets and at the homes of the district of Morón. In addition, it coordinates its actions with the Police, Citizen Security/Safety, Fire Brigade, Traffic, and Civil Defence, among other entities.

Comprehensive Paediatric Medical Care System (SAMPI, in Spanish) The Comprehensive Paediatric Medical Care System (SAMPI) is a free home medical service for children between 31 days and 14 years of age in the district of Morón, which offers home assistance and provides any medication that patients may need.

Home Medical Care System for Adults (SAMDA, in Spanish) The Home Medical Care System for Adults (SAMDA) is a home medical care service for adults with non-severe pathologies in the district of Morón. Physicians provide initial care at home and, if necessary, subsequent care is provided at the closest health care centre.

Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Municipal LibraryThis 107-year-old place is a significant spot for research, enquiry, training and creation which is open to the community. At present, it has more than 40,000 volumes belonging to various sectors and areas of knowledge. The library currently has more than 5,000 active members, and 70 enquiries are made on average every day. In addition, this place offers the following free activities: literary workshops for young people and adults, oral narration, bookbindery and restoration, guided tours for the various education levels and new member readers, literary cafés and reading promotion actions in various non-conventional spaces.
