Visit Crossroads:Crossroads Göteborg is an advice and support center for EU citizens and people with permanent residence permit from another EU country, staying in Gothenburg Region. The center provides information about your rights, obligations and opportunities and can help you in establishing contacts with Public Employment Service, Social Services, Consulates, etc. Drop-in hours 9-12 Mon-Fri

We who have done this guide are EU migrans from different countries in Europe. It is compiled out of our experiences and developed through a workshop activity at Crossroads, supported by Göteborgs Kyrkliga Stadsmission. �is guide is compiled to assist newly arri-ved EU migrants in Göteborg. As an EU migrant it can be di�cult to come across relevant information when new in Göte-borg. We hope this guide will be helpfull.

Bräcke diakoni offers emergency accomodation for EU migrants.You need to book through the staff at Crossroads.

You need a Samordningsnummer (coordination number) when working in Sweden! Apply for it at Arbetsförmedlingen.

As an EU citizen you always have the right to a Samordningsnummer, which is not the same as the personnummer (personal number).

Crossroads will help with job searching, job applications and CV writing.

At Arbetsförmedlingen you can get registered as a jobbseeker.

With a European Health Insurance Card you have the right to emergency health care at Vårdcentraler (Healthcare centres) and hospitals.

There are plenty of health care centres in Göteborg. In the city centre there’s Vårdcentralen Kungshöjd at Kaserntorget 11 A.

If you do not have a European Health Insurance Card you can get emergency healthcare at:

Help with basic needs

Bank AccountYou need a bank acount when working. Many banks ask for personnum-mer or work contract so you might need to try different banks. Try for example NORDEA, SWEDBANK, SEB or HANDELSBANKEN.

At Matteuskyrkan in Majorna there is a pre-school for children to EU migrants.

Göteborgs Räddningsmission is responsible for the project and they also assist children in schoolgoing age. Open Mon-Fri 9-15
