WELCOME TO AFTER CHAZOWN...After Chazown is designed for those who just recently attended The Chazown Experience and want to continue to

develop and better understand the unique vision God has designed for their lives. During After Chazown, you will

take time to review the three components that make up your Chazown and complete tasks that you may not have

been able to complete during The Chazown Experience. You will also have an opportunity to make changes to

your Chazown. Finally, you will clarify your goals and begin the process of taking your next steps and carrying out

your 100-day plan.

WHAT RESOURCES DO I NEED TO COMPLETE AFTER CHAZOWN?You will need your original Chazown Experience workbook as you will be referring to it often. If you went through the

experience online, your information is accessible by logging into your account at www.chazown.com. If you

didn’t finish your timeline during The Chazown Experience, then you will need yellow, pink, blue, and purple sticky

notes to complete your timeline. To get the most out of your complete Chazown Experience, you should consider

reading Craig Groeschel’s book “Chazown” if you have not done so already. You can also find additional resources

related to your five spoke areas at www.chazown.com and http://resources.lifechurch.tv.

SHOULD I WORK THROUGH EACH SESSION INDIVIDUALLY OR WITH A GROUP?That depends on your learning style. This refresher is designed to be used in a large or small group setting, as well

as for individual use. This guide is broken into three sections that can be done all at one time or during multi-week

sessions. If you need more than three weeks to complete the refresher, feel free to do so. Go at the pace that is

most beneficial for you. No matter how you choose to complete this material, you will benefit from the results. More

important than how you complete it is that you do complete it!

SESSION 1: UNDERSTANDING YOUR CHAZOWN

REVIEWING YOUR CHAZOWNEverybody ends up somewhere. Few people end up somewhere on purpose. Understanding and embracing the

unique vision God has for your life will help you end up somewhere on purpose. In The Chazown Experience, you

learned that your Chazown comes out of the place where your past experiences, core values and spiritual gifts

overlap. In this session, you will begin to review the three circles of your Chazown in order to gain more clarity and a

better understanding of what your unique Chazown looks like.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR PAST EXPERIENCESIn Session 2 of The Chazown Experience you began the process of uncovering your Chazown by examining your

past experiences and creating a personal timeline. In your timeline, you listed the people, events, and circumstances

that have most affected your life. Then you organized your timeline into chapters and identified the turning points

and major lessons. Look at your personal timeline in your Chazown Experience workbook and identify three of your

life experiences or major lessons that have impacted you the most in shaping you into the person you are today.

Under each experience/major lesson, briefly describe how you see this experience shaping your Chazown.

TIO TALK IT OVER How did examining your past experiences change the way you see yourself?

UPDATING YOUR PAST EXPERIENCESExamine your timeline from your Chazown Experience participant guide. If you were not able to finish your timeline

during the Chazown Experience, then take a few moments to add new sticky notes or make any changes you feel

are necessary. Remember to use the yellow sticky notes to indicate the people, events, and circumstances that have

most affected your life in a positive way. Use the pink sticky notes for those people, events, and circumstances that

were painful or hurtful. Use the blue sticky notes to give the chapters of your life titles. Use the purple stick notes to

write down the major lessons you learned during each chapter of your life.

REVIEWING YOUR CORE VALUES AND SPIRTUAL GIFTSIn Session 3 of The Chazown Experience you discovered how your core values and spiritual gifts shape your

Chazown. You should now be able to start seeing patterns in your past experiences that are reflected in your core

values and spiritual gifts. In the spaces below, write two of your top core values and two of your top spiritual gifts.

Below each one write a brief description of how you have seen them reflected in your past experiences.

Core Value 1:

How have you seen this core value reflected in your past experiences?

TIO TALK IT OVER What are some new things you learned about yourself as

a result of revisiting your core values and spiritual gifts?

OYO ON YOUR OWN

Before moving on to the next session, consider completing the following next steps:

• If you haven’t already done so, complete your personal timeline in your Chazown Experience participant guide.

• Review your purpose statement from Session 4 of The Chazown Experience and decide if you are

comfortable with it or if you feel you need to make changes to it.

• Review the next steps you wrote down at the end of Session 4 in your Chazown Experience workbook.

6

SESSION 2: CLARIFYING YOUR PURPOSE

TIO TALK IT OVER When it comes to your Chazown, where do

you hope to be one month from now and one year from now?

REVIEWING YOUR PURPOSE STATEMENT You gave your Chazown a name in Session 4 by writing a purpose statement. The purpose statement you wrote

doesn’t have to be perfect at this early stage of developing your Chazown, but you should have some basic

idea of what your Chazown looks like. When it comes to your purpose statement, you most likely fall into one of

three categories:

1. Your purpose statement remains very unclear and you are not comfortable with what you wrote.

2. Your purpose statement is somewhat clear, but you feel to need to refine it even further.

3. Your purpose statement is very clear and you are ready to move ahead and take your next steps.

If you fall into one of the first two categories, work on refining your purpose statement by taking the following steps:

STEP ONE:In the previous session, you wrote down three major past experiences or lessons learned and described how they

shape your Chazown. In the space below, write a few sentences about how you see these experiences/major

lessons reflected in your purpose statement.

STEP TWO:You identified two of your top core values and spiritual gifts. In the space below, write a few sentences about how

you see these core values and spiritual gifts reflected in your purpose statement.

7

Based upon your descriptions of how your past experiences, core values and spiritual gifts are reflected in your

purpose statement, write your purpose statement below. If you’re comfortable with the purpose statement you wrote

in your Chazown Experience workbook, then write it again. If you want to change or further clarify your purpose

statement, write your new purpose statement below.

‘I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has

given me – the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.’

Acts 20:24

REVIEWING YOUR NEXT STEP GOALSAt the end of Session 4 of the Chazown Experience, you wrote one or two steps you can take right now that will help

you move towards God’s Chazown for your life. Now that you have had some time to review your past experiences,

core values, spiritual gifts, and purpose statement, review your next steps and see if you need to make any

adjustments to them. As you review your next steps, consider asking yourself these questions:

1. How will my next step goals help me move towards my Chazown?

2. Are my goals realistic and achievable?

3. In what ways do my goals reflect my purpose statement, core values, spiritual gifts, and past experiences?

Write your updated next step goals below. If your next steps have not changed since The Chazown Experience, go

ahead and write your original next steps.

TIO TALK IT OVER What are some of the biggest challenges you anticipate

as you move forward and take your next steps? How will

you work towards overcoming these challenges?

TIO TALK IT OVER How can others help you follow through on your next steps?

OYO ON YOUR OWN

Before moving on to the next session, consider completing the following next steps:

• If you are still not comfortable with your purpose statement, continue to work on it this week. Refer to Session

4 of your Chazown Experience workbook for guidelines on how to write your purpose statement or watch The

Chazown Experience video for Session 4 at www.chazown.com.

• Attempt to take two small steps this week towards completing your goals.

• Review your 100-day plan and goals for your five spokes from Sessions 5 and 6.

9

SESSION 3: YOUR NEXT STEPS

TIO TALK IT OVER Why do you think the five spokes are so important when it comes to living out your Chazown?

REVIEWING YOUR FIVE SPOKESIn Session 5 of The Chazown Experience, you learned how the five spokes of life are integral to helping you live out

your Chazown. Those five spokes are:

• Your Relationship with God

• Your Relationships with People

• Your Financial Life

• Your Physical Life

• Your Work Life

During The Chazown Experience, you identified two spokes that you felt needed the most improvement in your life.

Dive into these spokes a little deeper by discussing the questions that are listed below. You can either answer the

questions related just to the two spokes you are focused on improving or answer the questions for all five spokes. If

you are in a group setting, be sure to discuss your answers with your group.

SPOKE 1: YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GODA strong relationship with God is vital in understanding and fully living out your Chazown. If you would describe your

relationship with God as being cold or lukewarm, then this is a spoke you should address. As you strive towards

improving your relationship with God, ask yourself the following questions:

1. What are the disciplines that help you the most in fully experiencing God?

2. What distracts and hinders your relationship with God?

As you work towards setting and carrying out your goals in improving your relationship with God, think about ways

you can expand and focus on the disciplines that help you most in experiencing God. Also, think about ways you

can remove the distractions that are hindering your relationship with God.

10

SPOKE 2: YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH PEOPLEAll relationships end up somewhere, but few relationships end up somewhere on purpose. In fact, where there is no

vision for your relationships, they generally die. If you find that you are deeply struggling in your relationships with

others, then ask yourself these four important questions from The Chazown Experience:

1. What relationships need to be initiated?

2. What relationships need to be nurtured?

3. What relationships need to be restored?

4. What relationships need to be severed?

If you are setting goals for yourself in improving in this spoke, then consider using these questions as possible goals.

SPOKE 3: YOUR FINANCIAL LIFEWhen you fail to plan, you plan to fail. One of the most common struggles people face in life comes in the form of

finances. Financial struggles can impact every area of life and deeply impact your ability to live out your Chazown. If

this is an area that you are struggling with and are addressing in your 100-day plan, then ask yourself these questions:

1. What’s your financial vision?

2. What’s your plan to improving your financial life?

As you set goals for yourself in this area, make sure they are attainable and very specific. Setting unrealistic goals for

yourself will only lead to greater frustration.

SPOKE 4: YOUR PHYSICAL LIFEEvery “body” ends up somewhere, but few “bodies” end up somewhere on purpose. Because the presence of the

Holy Spirit lives within our bodies, it’s important to take care of it. While physical challenges can look very different

for each person, there are certain common areas that we can all focus on in ensuring that our physical lives are in

top condition. These areas include getting regular checkups, regular exercise, and defeating all addictions. As you

begin looking at ways to improve your physical life, ask yourself these two broad questions as you begin:

1. What do you need to change about your eating habits?

2. How will you care for your body? (this can include many things such as

exercise, doctor visits, and defeating addictions)

Remember to make sure your goals in this area are attainable and very specific. Frustration will be the result if you

make unrealistic goals for yourself.

11

SPOKE 5: YOUR WORK LIFEMost of us spend more time at our jobs than anywhere else during an average week. That’s why it’s important you have

a healthy work life when it comes to living out your Chazown. Remember, all people work somewhere, but few people’s

work end up somewhere on purpose. Your job doesn’t have to be a way to just pay the bills, but instead it should be a

reflection of your deepest Chazown. As you look at ways to improve your work life, ask yourself these questions:

1. When you think about your job or profession, how do you feel? Do you feel frustrated or do you feel fulfilled?

2. How do you see your gifts, core values, and past experiences being used in your work life?

TAKING YOUR NEXT STEPSList the two spokes below that you have committed to improving over the next 100 days and write a brief

description of how you believe improving these two spokes would better equip you to live out your Chazown.

Spoke1:

How do you see improvement in this spoke benefiting your Chazown:

Spoke 2:

How do you see improvement in this spoke benefiting your Chazown:

Take a look at your goals that you wrote for your two spoke areas and see if you need to make changes to them or

leave them the same. If you feel the need to update them, then write your new goals below:

Spoke 1:

Goal 2:

Spoke 2:

Goal 1:

Goal 2:

Proverbs 29:18 NIV

TIO TALK IT OVER How can others help you in accomplishing your goals?

ACCOUNTABILITYIn Session 6 of The Chazown Experience, you wrote down your plan of accountability. It’s important you have others

hold you accountable and help you as you strive to accomplish your goals. Take a few moments to review your

plan of accountability and see if you need to make any adjustments. If you are going through After Chazown with a

group, then consider having them help you in keeping you accountable in attaining your goals.

TIO TALK IT OVER What challenges do you anticipate as you begin to pursue your goals?

How will you prevent these challenges from stopping you as you move forward?

13

NEXT STEP RESOURCESAs you work towards achieving your goals and embracing your Chazown, realize that you don’t have to do it alone.

Allow others to help you end up somewhere on purpose. Make sure you establish the accountability you identified

during The Chazown Experience to help you to achieve your goals. Additionally, there are many other resources that

can help you to take your next steps towards your Chazown. Here are just a few:

1. www.chazown.com At Chazown.com, you will find links to resources that will help you dig deeper into

all five spoke areas.

2. http://resources.lifechurch.tv At the resources website, you will find various tools you can download

or purchase from other websites that will help you achieve your goals in the five spoke areas. Click on the

personal growth tab and you will find links to all five spoke areas.

3. Mentor or Coach. One great way to achieve your goals is to have a mentor or coach help you. A mentor

can help guide you toward a specific area of your Chazown. A coach can help you work towards

improvement in multiple areas as they bring out the best in you.

4. LifeGroups. If you are not already a part of a regular LifeGroup, then find one. LifeGroups are a great place

for accountability as you move towards your Chazown.

5. 100-day journal. In your Chazown Experience workbook, there is a 100-day journal at the end of

Session 6. Strive to journal just a little each day about the progress you are making as you carry out your

100-day plan. You may choose to use a journal or notebook of your choosing rather than your workbook.
