Thank you for your service!

Kathi Marcus 15 years!

New Member Spotlight: Amy Obney I am almost a Yuma native, moving to Yuma as a baby with a

father in the military. I graduated from Kofa High School and

attended AWC.

After being gone from Yuma for several years, following a hus-

band in the military, I came back to Yuma with my son in

2007. I feel blessed to be raising my son Keegan (14) in Yuma. I enjoy the fact that he is

growing up in the same place I did. It is wonderful that Yuma still has the same friendly small

town feel, and the values that I grew up believing in.

I was fortunate to join the staff of Greater Foothills Helping Hands in October of 2009, as

their Administrative assistant. As with any small non-profit, I wear many hats and I absolutely

love what I do! I am so passionate about the help we give to our aging community! The joy

of working with the volunteers, and seniors we provide free services to, on a daily basis has

blessed my life, and I hope to continue working with Helping Hands for the remainder of my

career.

Watching my son grow up in the environment of Helping Hands, and seeing him develop a

heart for giving back, is another added bonus of working in the non-profit world!

I am excited to be a part of ABWA, and the networking opportunities it provides. Being able

to learn from, and join with, other women to make our community better is important to me.

IMPORTANT!!

Fellow ABWA Members! It is very important that you RSVP for meetings. We want

to ensure that enough food is ordered and place settings are set up. We do con-

sider walk in guests due to the newspaper invitation but it is much appreciated that

members RSVP. Remember that you may cancel your meeting RSVPs until Monday

morning (the day before our monthly meeting). Also, please remember that when

you do not attend a meeting to which you’ve RSVP’d, our chapter must still pay for

that meal and you are responsible for reimbursing the chapter for that expense. If

you have missed a recent meeting, please contact our chapter Treasurer, Karen

McCafferty and arrange to mail in your payment. Thank you!
