    Alumni happenings - mark the dates Rosemary Clark, Mac '59, Ass istan t Director for Alumni Programs, and your Program Events and Alumni Tours Committee have been at it again , rack ing their col lective brains for new ideas for alumni get- togethers .

    As usual , they've come through in fine style and thei r offerings so far appear in the appropriate date boxes in this Special Dateline 1979 issuc .

    Don' t miss Alumni Day at the niver ity of Guelph Arboretum Centre

    on January 20. The joint program , arranged by Pro fessors Erik Jorgensen, Arboretum Director, and Stanley Saunder~, Director of Music, is entilled .. Flute, Flumes and Flakes" and promises to be intrigu ing .

    A rip-roaring success last year, the Alumni Winter Carnival, a sk i weekend at Deerhurst Lodge, near Huntsville , is scheduled for February 23-25. Alumni and friends will enjoy the thrill of the down-hi ll slopes, the serenity of the si lent cross- ollntry trail , soothing saunas, codd li ng whirlpool baths , and the drow y warmth of a huge crackling stone fi replace.

    On the cover A bright and crisp January morning with yeste rday's snow hanging high in the trees and highl ighting the ruggedness of the rounded stone architecture of Creelman Hall.

    Named in honour of George Christie Cre Iman (1 869- 1929) , OAC ' 88, Ontario Agricultu ral College Pr sident from 1904 to 1920, the bu ilding was offici ally opened in September of 1914 and rests solid ly at the nonhero end of ever-busy and campus- pann ing Winegard Walk.

    To ce lebrate the coming of Spring , you' Jl want to attend Ihe Alumni Maple Syrup Festival on April I.     A dining hall since it was bu ilt , the structure undoubtedly ranks a one of Ihe most fam iliar landmarks on campus . holding fond memories for a great many alumni.

    Following in the footste ps of President Geo rge Christie Creelman, three of his decendents have passed through the portal of Creelman Hall and graduated from O.A.C. The President was fo llowed by hi' late sons, James, OAC '1 4, and Donald , OAC '27 A, and by his grandson and namesake, George hris tie Creelman, OAC '60 . 0
