Agenda
• 18 projects worth $102 million are under construction, 11 of which will be complete by June 2012
• Asphalt base course and friction course pavements that meet all federal requirements are now being produced
• Working to streamline:
– Contract and Change Order Approval Process
– Building Permit Approval Process
– Payment Review and Processing
Roadway Construction Highlights
Route 17 Resurfacing
• Contractor: Sumitomo Mitsui
• Construction Management: TG Engineers
• Cost: $5.6 million
• Scope of Work: reconstruct and widen from Route 4 to Route 4A, including drainage and four foot shoulders
Route 17 Resurfacing
• Base Course pavement has been completed on about 90% of the project
• Utility relocations underway at the hairpin curve
• Expected completion: June 2012
Route 7A Pavement Rehabilitation
• Contractor: Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co.
• Scope of Work: Pavement Reconstruction – Route 4 to Route 8
– Major drainage system upgrades
– Replacement of approaches at Mindoro Bridge from asphalt to concrete
– New sidewalks, curbs and gutters
• Return to two-way traffic: May 2012
• Expected project completion: October 2012

• DPW is working cooperatively with GIAA, DLM and the Governor’s office on the Phase 2 ROW acquisition plan

• Guam TIP is a four year financially constrained plan required by federal statute
• Draft 2012-2015 TIP has been developed
• Primary fund source is approximately $18.4M a year from the Federal Highway Administration
• GARVEE bond is under consideration to leverage and accelerate FHWA funding
• No DOD funding in the 2012-2015 plan
