Phase  I  registration  will  open  on  the  second  day  of  FASET  and  Phase  II  will  open  right  before  the  semester  begins.  FASET  1  people  and  FASET  6  people  will  have  the  same  chance  of  getting  into  classes  because  the  school  does  not  open  all  the  spots  at  once.  The  registration  is  usually

VERY  competitive  so  plan  in  advance.

• Courseoff  (https://gatech.courseoff.com/workspace)  • Course  Critique  (https://critique.gatech.edu/)

• Rate  My  Professor  (http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/campusRatings.jsp?sid=361)

Look  up  a  course  name  or  a  professor’s  name  and  it  will  tell  you  the  average  GPA.    You  can  click  blue  hyperlinks  or  sort  by  name,  GPA,  etc…

If  you  are  done  with  scheduling,  let’s  start  registering!

1.  Login  to  Buzzport  (www.buzzport.gatech.edu)

Page 3: GTKUSA-how to register

2.  Click “STUDENT” tab (indicated by blue arrow)

3.  Click  “Registration  –OSCAR”

Page 4: GTKUSA-how to register

4.  Click  “Student  Services  &  Financial  Aid”  –  Registration  –  Add  or  Drop  Classes

 5.  Once  you  select  term,  you  will  see  something like this.

If  your  registration  is  not  open  yet,  your  time  ticket  will  appear  on  the  page.  (Time  ticket  tells  you  when  you  can  start  registering.

People  with  more  credit  hours  will  have  earlier  time  ticket.)

Once  you  enter  your  CRNs  and  submit  changes,  you  are  registered  for  a  class!!!  Where  to  find  CRNs??

1.  Registration – Look up classes – Select term – Find specific course 2.  https://gatech.courseoff.com/workspace

Also,  instead  of  entering  CRNs,  you  can  register  by  using  “Class  Search”.  “C”  means  it  is  a  closed  section.  Check  the  box  and  click  “register”  button.

***Tips***

1.  When  you  are  thinking  about  taking  any  Lab  Science  course,  DON’T  FORGET  TO  GET  BOTH  THE  LECTURE  AND  THE  LAB.  Also,  the  section  name  for  lecture  and  lab  should

have  the  same  alphabet.  (M  for  lecture  &  M02  for  lab  for  example)

Page 6: GTKUSA-how to register

2.  At  the  bottom  of  courseoff  page,  it  tells  you  how  many  credit  hours  you  have  selected.  Georgia  Tech  has  minimum  of  12  and  max  of  21  credit  hours  per  semester.  On  average,  people  take  14-‐18  hours  per  semester.    3.  Default  courseoff  does  not  show  big  pop-‐ups  about  course  details.  If  you  would  like  to  make  your  courseoff  look  like  mine,  use  this.  https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/courseoff-‐buddy-‐for-‐georg/hiiomkfdlmhbdfbjboldgnkdhcboifhe      4.  Before  your  registration  opens,  make  sure  you  go  to

Student  Services  &  Finalcial  Aid  –  Student  Records  –  View  Holds  or

Student  Services  &  Financial  Aid  –  Registration  –  Registration  Status  to  check  if  you  have  any  holds  on  your  account  that  will  prevent  you  from  registering  to  classes.    5.  Lastly,  it  might  be  a  good  idea  to  ask  an  upperclassman  to  register  and  hold  the  course  you  want  to  get  in  because  they  have  more  credit  hours  so  their  registration  usually  opens  before  yours  does.

Good  luck  on  your  registration  and  I  hope  you  have  a  successful  freshman  year!!!
