tthagafri (Local Region Education) One of our main points of
focus is teaching our pupils about our Community; its history,
nature and possibilities for the future. Within that work we try to
work as much hands-on as possible, going on field trips to gather
information or get to know places of interest in Snfellsbr. This is
a special subject in our school, which is not common in Icelandic
schools.

Last but not least The school is currently working its tenth
year since being established, formed when three schools were united
as one. We are always developing most aspects of our work, as we
are still making our identity. Among the subjects that we are
working on are, exams and evaluation, added teamwork among pupils,
the curriculum of our school and self-evaluation, being done by
pupils, staff and parents. We are focused on our aim, which is to
make our good school even better! We see this Comenius-project as a
step in that direction!
