    All stainlesssteel

For applications exposed to corrosiveatmosphere, e.g. maritime applications orwhere frequent wash-down occurs, a stainlesssteel base plate and motor stool are available.

All parts exposed to the corrosive installationenvironment are thus made of stainless steel.

The CR pump comes asstandard in cast iron but canbe made in complete stainlesssteel EN 1.4301 or EN 1.4401.Relevant if high corrosionresistance is required.

    Horizontalmounting

Certain situations require the pumps to bemounted horizontally.

The CR pumps can be designed to fitinstallations with limited height, vehicles, ships or earthquake-prone areas.End-suction base can be supplied as option.

Depending on space andinstallation requirementsthe CR pump can be installedeither horizontally or vertically.Horizontal installationfurthermore has a positiveeffect on the bearing life.

    Refrigerantpump

For applications handling temperatures downto -40°C, special coolant pumps are available.

Because of different thermal coefficients ofexpansion, special designs are required.

Can be required when theturbine needs to start at minus40 degree C under start up anduntil operation temperature isreached.

    Rubbermaterials

Pumps fitted with chemical-resistant FXM(Fluoraz®) or FFKM (Kalrez®) rubber O-rings areavailable for applications, where the liquid maydamage standard O-ring materials, e.g. EPDM,FKM and Viton®.

Special types of rubber materi-als are available dependingon the type of cooling liquidspecified.

    Pumpbearings

A wide variety of bearing materials are avail-able to suit any app lication, e.g. silicon carbide, bronze, tungsten carbide, and carbon-filledPTFE.

Special types of bearing mate-rials are available dependingon the type of cooling liquidspecified.

    Belt-drive

For applications in remote areas or mobileapplications, where electric power is not avail-able, belt-driven pumps powered bye.g. a diesel engine or a steam turbine can besupplied.

Could be used if you want thepump driven by something elsethan a standard motor.

ConnectionsA wide range of pipe connections can be sup-plied to the CR p ump depending on applicationor customer request.

Depending on whether youdemand a compact build-inlength on your pump or anotherspecial solution in terms ofconnection, you can get it forthe CR.

NEED TO PUMP DANGEROUS, AGGRESSIVE, VOLATILE OR PRECIOUS LIQUID?THEN WHAT YOU REALLYWANT IS A COMPLETELYLEAKFREE PUMP.

    CR PUMPSMAGdrive

LEAKFREE PUMPS FOR HAZARDOUS LIQUIDGrundfos designed the CRN MAGdrive to be exactly that. Its pump shaft is rotated from the outside

by the forces of magnetism, so the liquid cannot escape its closed circuit. Everything stays put –

which is good news for your processes, your working environment and the environment in general.

RATED POWER UP TO 22 KWThe advantages of the hermetically sealed magnetic drive are available on CRN pumps with a rated

power up to 22 kW. No matter how powerful a motor you need, you get a pump which combines

high speed and compactness – and the benefits of patented technologies you won’t find anywhere

else. Naturally, the MAGdrive series has the superior reliability and performance you expect from a

    CR solution.

CUSTOMISE AS YOU PLEASEA magnetic coupling is one way to customise your CR pump for demanding industrial applications.

There are many more. The CR range is famed for giving you the greatest possible choice: take your

pick from a wide range of motor types, materials, couplings, surface treatments and much more.

HOW IT WORKSA magnetic coupling uses the force of magnetism to transmit power from the drive to the shaft. As

the illustration shows, the magnets are located inside completely separate parts – only the force of

magnetism connects the two. When the drive moves the magnets marked “A”, it makes the magnets

marked “B” turn as well, causing the shaft in the liquid to rotate and create the required pumping

action. In contrast to traditional pumps, the shaft does not penetrate through the two parts. This

means that there are no holes or seals through which the liquid can escape. The result is hermetically

    sealed, safe pumping.

Extreme liquids call for extreme measures. Most pumps are used for watery liquids at temperatures

below 120°C and pressures lower than 30 bar. When liquids go beyond these limits, special shaft

seal solutions are required to guarantee reliable operation.

    MAGdrive(sealless)

MAGdrive (sealless) solution is the preferred solution if you want a her-metic closed pump or go for a completely maintenance free solution inmany years.

MAGdrive pumps are completely leak-free. They use the power of strongmagnets to turn the pump shaft from the outside, so there are no sealsor openings for the liquid to escape through. The result is safe, hermeti-

    cally closed pumping.

    Titaniumshaft seal

For applications involving a high risk of corrosion, an all-titanium shaftseal variant is available for the all-titanium CRT pumps.

    LiqTec™dry-runningprotection

The Grundfos LiqTec™ is an electronic anti-dry-running sensor that stops

the pump immediately if it senses no liquid. The LiqTec™ can also monitor the flow and temperature of the pumpedliquid and can operate as a PTC relay for the motor monitoring motoroverload.

    Shaft sealvariants

Grundfos offers a wide range of balanced cartridge shaft seals with dif-ferent seal faces, such as silicon carbide, carbon and tungsten carbide tohandle almost any industrial liquid.

    Rubbermaterials

Seals fitted with chemical-resistant FXM (Fluoraz®) or FFKM (Kalrez®) rub-ber O-rings are available for applications where the liquid may damagestandard O-ring materials, such as EPDM, FKM and Viton®.

In addition to the range of variants relating to the motor, shaft seal, or pump module of the CR

products presented on the previous pages, Grundfos offers a variety of other customised solu-

tions to suit almost any conceivable need or requirement that you may have. For instance a variety

of connection options are available, as are pump models for additional corrosion requirements,

hygienic demands or pumps in special colours.

CUSTOMISED PUMPSIt is more than likely that we will be able to create exactly the right pump for you by combining the

elements and options already available within the CR range. But if you have special requirements or

a specific design in mind, let us know. We will do our best to provide full satisfaction.

    Additionalcorrosionresistance

For applications with a need for improvedcorrosion resistance, electropolished stainlesssteel or all-titanium pumps are available.

If a special corrosion class isrequired, then C3, C4 or C5 canbe supplied on request.

    Cleaned anddried pumpcomponents

For applications with very strict requirementsof cleanliness. All pump parts have beencleaned in hot soapy water, rinsed in de-ionisedwater and packed in silicon-free plastic bags.

All Grundfos pumps are testedwith water. Some test waterwill therefore remain in thepumps. If that is not acceptablethen this could be the solution.

    Specialcolours

Pumps are available in a multitude of coloursto match any requirement.

If you have a special colourpreference, e.g. your standardcorporate colour, it can bemade to order. It could also be aspecial paint type or thicknessto give you the corrosion class you need.

    Certificates

A wide range of pump and material certifi-cates are available, e.g. inspection certificates(Lloyd’s (LRS), Veritas (DNV), American (ABS),etc.), material specication, duty-point verica-tion, surface roughness, vibration test, motortest, ATEX and much more.

    Depending on the tests and

classifications required at theplace of installation a widerange of certificates can besupplied.

    Multipackaging

Pumps can be delivered on pallets without anyadditional packaging (cardboard).

If needed the pumps can besupplied in special packaging.

For applications exposed to corrosiveatmospheres, e.g. maritime applications orwhere frequent wash-down occurs, a stainlesssteel base plate and motor stool are available.

All parts exposed to the corrosive installationenvironment are thus made of stainless steel.

The CM pump comes asstandard in cast iron (Type A),but can be made in completestainless steel EN 1.4301 (Type I)or EN 1.4401 (Type G). Relevantif a high corrosion resistance isrequired.

CompactnessFor OEM builders or where compactness is aneed the CM pump is one of the most compactpumps on the market.

Compactness can be a big issuein turbines were space alwaysis a limitation.

Verticalmounting Certain situations require the pumps to bemounted vertically.

Depending on space andinstallation demands the CMpump can be installed eitherhorizontally or vertically.

    Temperaturespan

Thanks to the numerous configuration pos-sibilities and range of materials, the Grundfos

CM pump can operate over a wide range oftemperatures: from -30°C to 120°C. If yourequire different pumps for different applica-tions, this flexibility and streamlining helpskeep maintenance and spare parts costs to aminimum.

May be required when theturbine has to start from coldand the glycol water is down to-30°C during start up.

    Rubbermaterials

Pumps fitted with chemical-resistant FXM(Fluoraz®) or FFKM (Kalrez®) rubber O-rings areavailable for applications, where the liquid maydamage standard O-ring materials, such asEPDM, FKM and Viton®.

    Non-Stickshaft seal

What is more, industry-wide problems withsticking of shaft seals where SIC-SIC seal facesare used have been eliminated. The new CMsolution builds on both the implementation ofa rotation stop on the stationary ring and thepresence of different surface finishes on thestationary and the rotating rings.

    Optimisedflow geometry

With our unique high-precision machinery, we have minimised the tolerancesused in the manufacture of the impeller and pump casing and optimised the flowgeometries of these two crucial components. The result: minimal backflow andincreased energy efficiency.

    Anti-corrosionsurface

Cataphoresis surface treatment consisting of Powercron® cathodic electrocoatingand zinc phosphate coating. – Maximal protection against corrosion– Cataphoresis on the inside of the pump means a longer lasting inside surface

    that keeps efficiency high.

    Surfacedetails

Sometimes, looking at the surface is a good thing. Grundfos TP/TPE pumps aregiven cataphoresis surface treatments, consisting of Powercron® cathodic elec -trocoating and zinc phosphate coating. Cataphoresis on the inside of the pumpmeans a longer lasting inside surface that keeps efficiency high.

    Compactperfection

The ratio between the length and width of the shaft in the pump is extremelyimportant. Large shaft diameters (D) and a short distance from impeller to motor(L) maximize stability, ensuring lower maintenance costs. Grundfos pumps alwaysstrive for the optimal proportion between the length and width of the shaft (L3/D4).- Maximal shaft seal lifetime- Especially well suited for frequency converter operation

    MAGNA & GRUNDFOS GOIntroduction

FULL RANGE OF INTELLIGENT, HIGHEFFICIENCYCIRCULATORS FOR HEATING, COOLING, GROUNDSOURCE HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS AND DOMESTIC HOTWATER APPLICATIONS.

MORE THAN A PUMPIf you are looking for the best efficiency on the market combined with high intelligence and wide

range, look no further. The MAGNA3 is here.

RELIABLE INNOVATIONThe MAGNA3 is a circulator pump based on the tried and tested MAGNA technology and our indus-

try-leading experience with electronic pumps. The permanent magnet motor, AUTO ADAPT   function

and integrated frequency converter are still part of the MAGNA package, but we have added some

additional, ground-breaking new technologies. The result is a cutting-edge piece of intelligent tech-

nology that retains the unrivalled Grundfos reliability.

THE ALLPURPOSE CIRCULATORLike its predecessor, MAGNA3 is the ideal pump for heating and cooling applications as well as domes-

tic hot water circulation systems. It is designed to handle liquids down to -10°C, which makes it suit-

able for both tough industrial tasks and ground source heat pump systems (GSHP). Furthermore, the

liquid temperature (-10°C to +110°C) is now independent of the ambient temperature (0°C to +40°C).So whether your project requires heating or cooling – MAGNA3 is the pump for you.

GRUNDFOS GOThe intuitive handheld pump control, Grundfos GO, offers full remote access to Grundfos’ online

tools. With the most comprehensive mobile platform on the market Grundfos GO is designed to save

    Differentspeeds

The Grundfos E-solutions can operate at different speeds inorder to optimise pump performance to the application:Low speed, to obtain e.g.- gentle handling of the liquid- pumping at low NPSH level- reduced noise emission

If you want to be in complete control of your coolingsystem, a frequency converter in front of the pump will bea huge advantage.

    Over-synchronousspeed

Oversynchronous speed, to obtain e.g.- more flow and head on a given pump size- compact physical size

If you need the smallest pump you can get, than it could be

an idea to speed it up to size down. Furthermore you coulduse the function if in periods you need more flow an headthan normal.

    The advancedcontrol canmeasureand adaptto specialapplications

    - Extended protection of process- extended protection of pump and drive- pump performance curve adjusted to match individual

    applications

Why have a bigger flow t han needed? With this solution you can save costs simply by leaving outthe regulation valves.

    Standstillheating

An anti-condensation heater function makes it possible toheat up the motor during standstill to avoid condensationin the motor.

If for some reason you need motor heating of a turbine, then motor heating is installed in the E-solution as astandard.

Duty/standbyBy interconnecting two pumps via the standard built-inGENIbus interface, a duty/standby function of the twopumps can be obtained.

E-solution from Grundfos, you do not need to programmeanything in your controller as it has already been done byGrundfos.

Duty/assistBy interconnecting two pumps via the standard built-inGENIbus interface, a duty/assist function of the two pumpscan be obtained.

Useful if you do not want to have two 100% pumps as inthe duty/standby solution, but maybe two 80% pumps. The duty/assist function could be a real benefit to you if

your turbine has a load profile that does not require 100%cooling capacity 24/7. Everything is set up by Grundfos.

    Constant –whatever youwant!

When we say constant, we mean constant! E-pumps havea built-in PI controller that provides closed-loop control ofvirtually any value you want to control (available functionsdepend on E-pump type and variant). For example: Constant

    differential pressure. Constant temperature.

We have a built-in regulator so no matter if you want toregulate by pressure, differential pressure, temperature orsomething else we can handle it.

    Unique userinterface

The user interface is self-explanatory and very easy to use.

Very useful if fast commissioning is needed, or you maybeneed to change something and you do not have a program-ming background. This can be done easily because t he E-solution is developed f or pumps and nothing else meaningit can be made simpler.

    Industrial buscommunication

All E-pumps are equipped with a s tandardRS485 GENIbus interface.

This means that we can convert anyfieldbus standard on the marked. Thisgives you some advantages both relatedto operation of pump and monitoring ofpump and system.

    Sensor

    Grundfos offers a number of sensors to beused in connection with E-pumps. All sensorsare with 4 - 20 mA output signal.Pressure sensors: 0 - 25 barTemperature sensors: 0 - 100°CDifferential pressure: 0 - 16 barFlow meters: 0.3 - 240 m³/h

If you need sensors in the system, theycan be supplied and delivered togetherwith the pump. If you have an E-solution,

you can furthermore have the softwarepreset, so the pump knows the signaland measuring range of the sensor whendelivered. This means saving on commis-sioning time.

Hydro MPC booster– a multi-pumpcontrol system forcontrol of parallel-connected pumps

If you want reliability and optimum per for-mance in your cooling system, t hen parallelpumps could be the solution. Because nomatter the duty point we will be able toswitch pumps in and out depending on theneed. Booster sets from Grundfos are avail-able for any type of pump.

An option if you have two pumps con-nected in parallel running at 75%. Then

you will able to do all the cooling with onlyone pump when the wind is not so strong. If you are on full load with the turbine andone pump fails, you will be able to producesome energy until you can repair.

When you make a offshore wind farm it is necessary to pro-

tect the fish in the water against the noise when hammer-

ing the turbine pile into the seabed. This is done by installing

a cofferdam outside the pile draining off the water in the

space between the two piles. This will reduce the noise to

the sea and when the wind turbine pile is hammered into

the seabed the cofferdam is lifted away and it is ready to be

    used for the next pile.

It usually does. The SP pump resists sand and other abrasives; it

keeps operating when others give up. You can even choose extra

high-grade stainless steel for very severe conditions. What is more,

a range of protection features prevent damage if things get too

tough even for the SP. It is no wonder that you find SP solutions

in the toughest environments – e.g. mines and offshore industries

    worldwide.

    THE FUTUREWe are ready

PARALLEL PUMPSWhere the future will take us regarding cooling in wind turbines we do not know. But with the

increase in size of the turbines there is no doubt that the need for cooling will also increase. And the

reliability of the systems will become bigger and bigger because it will cost more and more if the

turbine stops. These things are pointing more and more in the direction of double pump solutionsrunning in duty/standby or duty/assist. Especially the duty/assist function is interesting, because it

could very often be relevant to size maybe two 75% pumps in parallel or three 50% pumps in parallel,

all depending on your control strategy, your operation pattern and so on. Because how often does

your turbine actually run full load…? An example of a booster set could be as shown above.

Other solutions that could be relevant in the future, could be sea water cooling of offshore turbines

and maybe also compressor technology with a cooling refrigerant. In both instances Grundfos has the

know-how, experience and products that could help. Some of the advantages of these two systems

    could be:

SEAWATER COOLING:• Always enough cooling capacity.

    • Space savings in the nacelle because you would not need the big air/glycol heat exchanger.• You could build up the system as a standard commercial building cooling system.

COMPRESSOR TECHNOLOGY.• Space saving because you can make the heat exchanger around 50% smaller with a refrigerant

    compared to air.

    • Always enough cooling capacity no matter the size of turbine.

FIRE PUMP SYSTEMSWe design and build systems ranging from simple pump-driver systems on a base frame to highly

engineered and fully enclosed, packaged systems. We are proud to have the widest range of fire

pump approvals and listings worldwide, and our expertise enables us to engineer, produce, stock,

distribute and service our products all over the world. There are three main reasons for choosing fire

pumps that are approved and certified by accredited third party authorities. Firstly, based on the mas-

sive experience embodied in leading fire protection, regulations and codes, approved systems reduce the

risk of harm to life and damage to property in the case of fire. Secondly, approved systems provide maxi-

mum reliability and superior quality. Thirdly, using approved and listed fire pumps typically reduces insur-

ance rates significantly. When third party approval is not required for a fire pump installation, Grundfos

can supply non-listed fire systems that comply with specific fire standards.
