When is the bond election and where do I vote?
• The bond election date is Tuesday, February 12, 2013
• The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Voting will take place in precincts where all other elections are held.
• All registered voters living within the Moore Public Schools’ attendance area may vote, including MPS residents who live in OKC or other areas outside the City limits of Moore.
How was the need for the bond election determined?
• The Patrons Advisory Committee, a group of residents, business leaders, parents, students, members of the Board of Education and school staff, have been evaluating where the district is now and what the future needs are going to be. The Moore School District’s student population has grown by more than 1300 students since 2010. We are the third largest district in Oklahoma with a student population of more than 23,000. This bond issue will help us take an important step in planning for future growth and change. In addition, we want our students to have top of the line facilities comparable to other 6A districts in the state.

• This is a multi-phased bond issue with bonds to be issued over a five-year period. Based upon current projections, the proposed bonds are expected to have a nominal impact on property taxes. For example, homeowners whose house is valued at $100,000 may see their annual property taxes increased by approximately $12.00 a year.
