Dear Parent/Carer,
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 6 th March 2020. We would like every child to dress up as a book character. The world book day website has several ideas (www.worldbookday.com/dressing-up/) or maybe one of the Mr Men or Little Misses; Roald Dahl provides lots of ideas from Charlie Bucket to Matilda or maybe a Malorie Blackman character. We will be awarding tokens for the best costume in each year group – but please… No Superheroes …
We are asking all children who dress up to bring £1 to school.
All the children will be performing a story they have been learning in literacy lessons at an assembly. We are also organising a shared reading time, where the older children will be encouraged to read picture books to the younger classes. So, if children in years 3, 4, 5 or 6 have a favourite picture book from when they were younger please encourage them to bring it in to school.
Later this term, we will be hosting a book fair from Monday 9 th March until Thursday 12th 8nd
March. Children will be able to spend their £1 World Book Day Token at the book fair. I look forward to meeting you there.
Regards
