Where else do Johann Sebastian Bach and Martin Luther get as close to each other as in Eisenach? Johann Sebastian Bach was born in Eisenach, and about 200 years later he attended the same Latin school as Martin Luther. Both of them sang in the Eisenacher Kurrende, the oldest protestant choir of Eisenach that still exists today. Seat yourself in the pews of the Georgenkirche in which once the 14-year-old Martin Luther and the 9-year-old Johann Sebastian Bach were sitting. Luther and Bach are to the fore of an exhibition that can be vi-sited from 25 February to 11 November 2012 in the Bachhaus. Come and visit the sounding museum and the world’s largest exhibition on life and works of the famous composer Johann Sebas-tian Bach during an exclusive evening tour through the Bachhaus. Indulge in a glass of sparkling wine which will be served in the garden of the Bachhaus

12th Historic Christmas Market at the WartburgWe are inviting you to a very special pre-Christmas event in Eisenach. The historic Christmas market at the Wart-burg will open its gates for visitors from far and wide. Experience long forgotten handicraft, historic trade; music and play in the peerless setting of the Wartburg above the Thuringian Eisenach. Candlemakers, costume interpreters, lantern makers, soap boilers, coopers, ropemakers and pedlars will expose their goods for sale. Minstrels, story-tellers and puppeteers will ensure en-tertainment. Follow the tracks of the Lu-ther family to Möhra, the family home of the Luthers with the Luther church.
