Sub: Payment of fees by  PG Students for the AUTUMN SEMESTER  2011­2012

 All students in the Ph.D./M.Tech./M.Des./M.Phil Programmes who are classified under Group – I and Group ­II as mentioned below are required to pay Concessional Fees(Tuition Fee @Rs.5,000/­, per semester) and Non­concessional fee (Tuition Fee @Rs.25,000/­ per semester) respectively for Autumn semester 2011­2012 before scheduled date of registration.

All students must  note that they should pay the fees through: following revised procedure for payment of fees:

   a.  Canara  Bank (IIT Powai ) branch Direct Debit                 b.  Online SBI Internet Banking                c.  Master/Visa Debit Card which are accepted by ICICI payment Gateway                d.   Any Credit Card (transaction fees apply)                  Instructions   for  online   fee  payment  are  made  available  on  ASC home page  as  well  as  Academic homepage (for students accessing the site from outside IITB campus).

     Students paying fees through online fee payment must ensure that their transaction is completed in all respect . If no payment is credited to Institute account  before due date, they will be charged fine for late payment, @ Rs.100/­ per working day delay.

              Cash Section will accept fees only for foreign /external students, for students with bank loans or private/government sponsorships etc. where the scholarship amount is   received through   a cheque or draft in the name of  “The Registrar, IIT Bombay”. 

                  The  late payment of Fees will be accepted online only and not at CASH SECTION. 

Instruction for Group II Categories : 

1)   All students   who are classified under Group ­II must note that they can opt to assist/work for courses, laboratory  or  any  other  related  academic/administrative  work to  the  extent  of  8  hours  per week and   there by earn  concession in fees.   Such  students  need to submit  a  completed  form of  interest ­ `Form A’ by 29­07­2011.  On receipt of completed form of Interest  `Form A’,     the Academic Office   will refund extra amount  of Rs.20,000/­ paid by these students to their respective bank A/cs.

2)    All  such students must  note  that   they are    required  to perform   academic  /administrative responsibility assigned to  them from the concerned   Head/Convener of  the Dept./Centre/School/IDPs,   and if  they fail   to perform the responsibility to the satisfaction of the supervising faculty members(s), they will have  to forgo the concession  of fees granted to them and  pay non­concessinal fees i.e. Tuition Fee Rs.25000/­ in the subsequent semester.    These   students   are   required     to   submit     `Form   B’   ­     certificate     of   completion   of Academic/administrative responsibility  by 16­12­2011.

3)  The Form A and B are available on iitb site: http://www.iitb.ac.in/academic/downloadForm/

Research Scholars who are likely to submit their Ph.D. Thesis on or before  20   th   July 2011    need not   to  pay  fees   for  Autumn   Semester  2011­12.    Further,   the  Research  Scholars  who are completing six   or more years from the date of  their  registration must seek prior permission from PGAPEC for the continuation of their registration before making the payment of fees. 

  

        

It may please be noted that if a student fails to pay the fees and / or register himself/herself for Autumn Semester 2011­12 on or before the  25th July 2011  (i.e. Last date for late registration), his/her registration is liable for cancellation.                        Post Graduate students who have been allotted  family accommodation or accommodation at Tansa/Tulsi/ QIP quarters are   required to pay license fees as applicable to their allotted quarters, in addition to semester fees. Details   of   the    fees payable by the students are available on our website http://   www.iitb.ac.in   /academic/circular.jsp   .

The above mentioned students have to pay only hostel related fees/deposits,  amounting to Rs.10,626/­  at the time of Admission (Hostel Related Fees: Rs. 7500+ AIP: Rs.126 + Deposits :Rs.3000) 

 

Rs. 7626/­ for every Autumn Semester and 

Rs. 7500/­for every Spring Semester .

Their Tuition fees and other fees will be remitted separately by the sponsoring Agency.

Students who have permitted temporarily withdrawal from the programme are required to pay Rs.2000/­ as continuation fee per semester.
