Our Location

Hi! This St. Bartholomew Academy. Our group wanted to share our findings and information with your school . This is what we found. We hope you enjoy the project!

Living

Our group found living things like worms, baby worms, moss, moths, leaves, and an oak tree. We also found pine bushes, stems, roots, slugs, grubs, and pollen.

Non-Living Things

In our little square we found rocks, paper, mud, dirt, plastic, wood chips, mulch, dead leaves, air, Styrofoam, minerals, seeds, and bark.

Comparison

Pine Jog Elementary and our school St. Bartholomew Academy had a lot of things in common. Like ants , beetles, etc. Pine Jog Elementary found dragon flies, butterflies, bees, and water beetles. We also found lady bugs, and small black beetles. We had a lot of things in common like ants, beetles, flies, and so much more.

We found what we found because of the climate in our location. We live in the northeastern United States. This past year we had a harsh winter so it has not felt like spring yet. Pine Jog Elementary is located in West Balm Beach in Florida so it feels like summer all year round. For us, it has been winter these past months so we haven't had a lot of spring creatures outside lately.

Why Did We Find What We Found

What We Learned

We learned from this project that working together is fun and educational. We also got to explore our school’s environment. In each place live you’ll have a different ecosystem. Since we live in New Jersey, we don’t have tropical animals like Pine Jog Elementary. We also learned that you can find many living creatures in our square.
