1. Gather together all the

materials you will need.

2. Color your sloth (at the

end of this PDF) and then

cut it out.  Don't throw away

the paper scraps though! 

We'll recycle them in the

next step.

Giant ground sloths were amazing animals that lived

during the Pleistocene, or the Ice Age.  Back then, the

Earth was colder than it is today.  There were even

huge glaciers that covered a lot of Wisconsin!  Even

though it wasn't cold all the time and summers did

come, there was still a lot of snow.  Let's make a giant

ground sloth snow storm bag.

- giant ground sloth printout- plastic bag- scissors- something to color with- straw

3. Cut the left over paper

scraps into strips and

then into little pieces, like

confetti.

4. Put your sloth and the

cut up paper bits into your

plastic bag.  Zip it closed

almost all the way, but

leave room for a straw.

5. Push your straw into

the top of your bag and

close it the rest of the

way.  Blow slowly to fill

your bag with air.

6. Blow hard into your straw to make the snow fly

around your giant ground sloth, just like it was back

in the Ice Age!
