I am sharing my knowledge as a public affairs and communicationsprofessionaltothisend.

GrotonCommunitySchoolisa"homeawayfromhome"formychildren,soitwasimportanttomethatIbecomemoreinvolvedintheGCScommunitybyjoiningtheBoardofDirectors.Beforemycurrentrole,IservedasFundraisingCo-Chair. Ienjoyhelpingchildrenandtheirfamiliesthroughmyprofessionalworkasaprivate Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist, and also as a Speech and Language DevelopmentConsultantattheschool.

JenBurkeBoardofDirectorsParentRepresentativeCo-ChairServingasaDirectorsinceApril2016CurrentGCSParentIliveinPepperellwithmyhusbandandtwosons.MyoldesthasbeenatGrotonCommunitySchoolforthreeyearsnow,andmyyoungestwillattendeventually.IvolunteerontheBoardofDirectorsbecauseIwant to support the dedication to and enthusiasm for early childhood education that the GrotonCommunitySchoolstaffexhibitsonadailybasis.AsaschoolcounselorintheActon-BoxboroughSchoolDistrict,Ifirmlybelieveinprovidingchildrenandfamiliestheverybesteducationalexperiences.

WithonechildcurrentlyatGCS,andanotherscheduledtoattendthis fall, IwantedtobecomeasinvolvedasIcouldingivingthechildrenthatchoosetoattendGCSthebestlearningandsocialexperiencepossible.IamanativeofDunstable,agraduateoftheGDRSD,andhaveaMaster’sDegreeinEnglishandPublishing.IamManagingEditorforalegalpublishingcompany.

JennGreenwoodBoardofDirectorsPresidentServingasaDirectorsinceDecember2013PastGCSParentIbecameaGCSparent in2013whenwemovedtotheareaand joinedtheBoardofDirectorsshortlyafterward.Twoofmythreegirlsattended.Iholdthevalueofahighqualityearlychildhoodexperienceclosetomyheartasbothaparentandasaneducator.Ihaveadegreeandcertificationineducation,andhaveworkedwithyoungchildrenforcloseto20yearsinteachingandadministration.IamhonoredtohaveahandinthecontinuedsuccessofGCSasamemberoftheBoardofDirectors.

LindaKosinskiGCSDirectorMALeadership,BSElementaryEducation,AAEarlyChildhoodEducationWithGCSsince1985Non-votingGCSTrusteeandMemberofBoardofDirectors,PastGCSParentInmyyearsatGCS,IhavetaughtPre-K,Kindergarten,andservedasAssistantandnowschoolDirector.I truly believe in the school’s philosophy and embrace meeting the need for good early childhoodprogrammingthatshouldbeavailabletofamiliesandyoungchildren.IappreciatethetalentandcaliberofGCSteachingstaff,feelprivilegedthatmychildrenwereabletoattend,andproudtobepartoftheGCScommunity.

IliveinGrotonwithmyhusband,son(GCSalumni)anddaughter,whoiscurrentlyatGCS.Weareforevergrateful to all of the teachers and staff for helping our children to continue to flourish and growacademically,sociallyandemotionallythroughouttheirchildhood.Toshowourgratitude,IdecidedtojointheBoardofDirectorstoensurethatGCScontinuestothriveandtohaveapositiveinfluenceoneverychild who attends the school. I believe that the GCS experience is an invaluable, unique first schoolexperience with an emphasis on community and developing the whole child. A must for building afoundation for life! I am a Product Manager in InformationTechnologywithFidelityInvestments.

DanQuinnMemberatLargeServingasaDirectorsinceDecember2016CurrentGCSParentMysonrecentlystartedintheAquaRoomin2016,andisreallyenjoyinghistimewithhisteachersandfriends.WeenvisionstayingatGCSforawhile,withanewbaby-andfutureGCSstudent-joiningourfamily.Ithinkvolunteeringinthecommunityandgivingbacktotheschoolisimportant.Theteachersandstaffgivea lottoensurethestudentsgrowand learn. IhaveworkedatBostonScientific for11yearsworkinginmedicaldevicedesignanddevelopment.Workinghardallowsmetoplayhard,whichincludessummersdownonCapeCod,theocean,anddaytripsexploringnewsummerspots!

ShaguftaRahmanBoardofDirectorsParentRepresentativeCo-ChairServingasaDirectorsinceApril2016CurrentGCSParentIliveinGrotonwithmyhusbandanddaughter.MydaughterbeganintheMyGrown-upandMeProgram,thenmovedontotheAquaRoom,andPre-KClass.WelovebeingatGCSasitisfamilytous.Iamgratefulforallthenurturingandcaretheyprovideforallourchildren.IjoinedGCSboardbecauseofthewonderfulmemberswhodevotetheirtimetoimprovingandhelpingtheschoolsucceed.Iwantedtobepartofsuchadedicatedgroupofpeopleand Ienjoyworkingwithallof them.Asayoga teacher I strive tobringmindfulnesstoeverythingwedo.
