Chair the Cataloging Policy Board. Problem solve in all areas related to cataloging. Liaison with public services departments to ensure that our efforts are user oriented. HRDP (Historical Resource Development Program) through the State of Iowa’s Department of Cultural Affairs. Grant written with Lanny Haldy and Nancy Kraft. Amount of grant was $4,700. Served as project director—collaborating with members of ICPC to present a series of instructional sessions. This was the second of two grants. Iowa Arts Council Grant, $1,500. For Latin American Art Music for Flute and Guitar Performed in Iowa Communities with High Latino Populations. Concerts in West Liberty, Muscatine, Postville, and Des Moines September 30 through October 2. Concerts were given as planned with this grant. Grant written and carried out with guitarist Jorge Torres. Iowa Arts Council Mini Grant, $1,250.00 to support production of CD: Music for Flute and Guitar with Jorge Torres with Centaur Records. Funding also came from Grinnell College and Lafayette College. Report submitted to Iowa Arts Council July 2006. MUSIC

This hour-long presentation discussed the role of the Grinnell College librarians in the development and fulfillment of the Mellon projects and their success and significance to teaching at Grinnell. November 1997. Presented hour-long lecture demonstration workshop on "Selecting Brittle Books for Preservation" at the 1st Iowa Conservation and Preservation Annual Meeting: S.O.S. (Save Our Stuff) and Conference. June 18, Herbert Hoover Museum and Library, West Branch, Iowa. Invited talk on the impact of electronic resources on reference services at the 1999 Iowa Library Association Annual Meeting. October 15, 1999 Invited to present Two-day workshop with Jon Chenette, music, and David Berk, IMTS on the Arts and the WWW, and technology in the classroom in general at Lawrence University, May 12 and 13, 2000. Presented on copyright and intellectual property especially in terms of the digital media and creative artists, locating and evaluating Web sites and art sites in particular. Discussed concept of Web art and hyper-fiction on the Web.
