The GRI Certified Training Program, focused on the built environment, is a 2-day theoretical and practical course designed for students, owners, A & D and sustainability professionals, along with anyone trying to track their corporate footprint. While the construction and real estate sector is often associated with considerable sustainability impacts, it also offers enormous opportunities for best “green” and resilient building practices. The GRI Certified Training presents a framework for practitioners to manage these impacts and opportunities, educate stakeholders, and provide accountability for their facilities and the built environment. Our training is based on the official GRI Sustainability Reporting Framework, and is illustrated using local examples focused on new and existing projects. Discussions of trends in sustainability reporting will ensure participants are informed of current developments. Disseminating knowledge of sustainability reporting and management examples and best practices. Training participants in what constitutes a Green Building and its value proposition. Understanding material flows from design through operations. Implementing building metrics into a GRI report. Understanding sustainable construction certification options. Providing a forum for interaction among participants to enable the exchange of ideas and experiences.

The course takes participants through a step-by-step process of the GRI sustainability reporting journey. At the end, participants are able to use the GRI G4 standard to produce a basic sustainability report. After successful completion of the course, participants receive a GRI certificate of attendance.
