Began his career in the graffiti hip hop scene in Mexico City during the 1990's. Developedactions and social networks with the youth in public spaces.
His work aims to reduce the stigmas surrounding artists and cultural activities developed inthe streets and urban environments, strengthening youth networks to transform public
spaces and professionalize urban art. Cofounder of Habitajes: research center for the public space, supporting human rights,gender issues, citizenship, memory, social violence prevention and peace culture.

Born and raised in Salinas, California. He graduated in Chicano Studies/Music from UC Berkeley, holds aMasters Degree in Education and Teaching Credential from Stanford University and is a PhD candidate at
UC Santa Cruz. Professor Covarrubias teaches different courses at the MexicanAmerican Studies Department and Social
Sciences Department at San Jose City College and San Jose State University. He is a very accomplished musician and composer, performing different genres of Latino Music and has
recorded several albums with different bands.
MICHAEL PALMAPROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER/RESEARCH MANAGER FOR IDCS
International and winning photographer based in the San Francisco Peninsula. Holds a degree in PoliticalScience and History from UC Riverside and a Masters Degree in Political Science from the University of
Iowa.He is a member of the Richard Dischler Photo Workshop, Raul Touzon's Workshop in Oaxaca and his
trajectory includes an academic and professional experience with the Nikon School, the NationalGeographic Society and the Lepp Institute, among others.
He is currently developing a long term project of photographic exploration in the Death Valley anddocumenting the Day of the Dead festivities in Oaxaca, Mexico.
His professional career was also developed on research and analysis of information technologies,telecommunications and consumer technology markets.
