INTERESTED IN HAIRDRESSING?

WHAT YOU DON’T NEED:• A long list of GCSEs

• Any prior knowledge or experience of hairdressing

WHAT YOU DO NEED:• To be between 16 and 24 years of age

• To have secured a full-time salon placement to qualify for full funding

• Enthusiasm, commitment and a desire to succeed

• Stamina for being on your feet all day

• A sense of humour and good interpersonal skills

At Grey’s Academy, we’ve invested in modern,

purpose built facilities so that we can give you the

best possible training, including an air-conditioned

lecture room, IT suite and fully fitted salon with

colour bar and wash house. You’ll be working

towards a nationally recognised NVQ Level 2

qualification which covers nine subject areas.

You’ll benefit from a series of both practical and

theory workshops with support from our friendly

team of hairdressers and will be trained in:

• Cutting

• Colouring

• Perming

• Blow-drying/Setting

• Client care and consultations

• Team working

• Record keeping

• Health and Safety

You’ll learn more than just hairdressing skills Our

apprenticeship programme also helps you develop

ways to manage your money, communicate with a

wide range of people and understand what skills

make you a great employee. We’re interested

in every part of your life and will celebrate your

success and achievements with you.

SCHOOL LEAVERS & CANDIDATES

TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL WITH AN ADVANCED APPRENTICESHIP

Once you’ve completed your NVQ Level 2

qualification, why not go even further? It’s a

great opportunity for you to develop leadership

qualities, deeper interpersonal skills and get

creative in your hairdressing.

Government funding is available and you’ll

continue to be supported by our friendly,

experienced team. Level 3 covers:

• Advanced cutting techniques

• Creative colour and colour correction

• Artistic and creative interpretation

• In-depth consultation skills

• Health and safety

• Decision making and effective teamworking
