DESCRIPTION

The various designs and ideas I can create from scratch using many of the applications provided in Adobe Creative Suite 5. Throughout the semester, I learned how to build upon what I had learned and how to attract the viewer with many different effects and designs. All my creations represent my proficiency and understanding of the many tools provided to me, as well as how creative I can get with most ideas.

Fall Leaves Illustration8 . 5 x 1 1 I n c h e s

This project showed me the basics of the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator and how to position objects in a styllish way. We were given a photo of leaves and then instructed to use the pen tool to create the outline of many of those leaves. After we were done, we filled in the pen outlines with a color we extracted from the photo itself. We did this by using the eyedropper tool, followed by the paint bucket tool. When we colored in all our outlines, we finally positioned them around the area to cre-ate a pleasant design.

iPod Illustration8 . 5 x 1 1 I n c h e s

This is another project created in Illustrator. It showed us how we can use the many shape tools in Illustrator to our advantage so that we can create a realistic object.Like the Leaves project, we acquired a photo of an iPod off the internet. We placed the iPod in the background and began to recreate it using the rectangle tool and ellipse tool. We also used the pen tool a little, as well as the pathfinder tool to create the earphones and the screen. I felt I was able to recreate the iPod to near perfection, although the left earphone does look a little weird.

Line Art Shoe Illustration8 . 5 x 1 1 I n c h e s

This project, the last one that would be made com-pletely in Illustrator, required us to use the many skills we had already learned from the previous two projects to create a vector shoe. Along with the shape tools and the pen tool, we also had to use drawing modes to draw inside the shapes we created. This helped a large amount when I was inserting many lines inside some parts of the shoe. We also used palletes to help us switch between colors a lot faster and make sure we’re always using the right colors.

Background to Foreground5 1 0 x 4 1 6 P i x e l s

This Photoshop excercise introduced us to some of the many tools that would help make our photo more realistic. Mainly, we worked with masks and the po-lygonal lasso tool. Our main objective was to place the farmer inside the picture and make it look as realistic as possible. After putting the farmer behind the fence and the pitchfork in front, we created a blur around the background and gave him a small shadow.

Water Mask4 6 2 x 5 1 0 P i x e l s

This Photoshop excercise was mainly focused on masks and the brush tool. We had to make the diver look like she was really in the water. To do this, we created a pixel mask over here. Next, we used the brush tool to fade out her body. The lower she was, the less we could see of her. We left her upper body alone because that would be where she was above the water.

Real World Transformations7 2 3 x 4 7 8 P i x e l s

This Photoshop excercise revolved around the free transform tool, as well as the warp tool. We simply had to place the posters into the image. For the poster on the left, I simply had to use the free transform tool and distorted the tool into it fit perfectly into the billboard spot. For the poster on the right, we had to apply a little arc effect and then use the warp tool to perfectly place it into the spot. After we were done with that, we set the blending mode to “overlay” for both posters.

Photo Mainpulation1 2 0 0 x 8 0 0 P i x e l s

This simple project simply required us to change an image to something completely different. We just had to show that we could use many of Photoshop’s tools to our advantage. For this project, I got an image of a soccer player and a soccer ball. Afterwards, I applied a motion blur filter to the soccer ball. I used the pen tool to create some lines from the player’s shoe to the ball. The brush tool was the main tool for this assignment, since I had to use it on the corners and on the lines. I also used the brush tool to create small circles, making the image a little prettier.

Photo Montage8 x 8 i n c h e s

This project asked us to assemble a bunch of objects and position them so that they all look like they be-long. I gathered many images based on my interests. Afterwards, I used the free transform tool on many of them and added a shadow to each object. Each shadow would be different based on how far they were from the wall or the light. e es dolorrores essit

Magazine Advertisement7 . 2 5 x 9 . 7 5 i n c h e s

This Indesign project required us to create a magazine advertisement that caught the viewer’s attention and made them want to buy the product being shown. I decided to advertise a soccer ball. I used columns as guides so that it would make designing the advertise-ment a little easier. I gathered as many images as I could of the ball and placed them in spots where I felt they belonged.

Admission Ticket4 x 6 i n c h e s

This last Indesign project asked us to create an attractive admission ticket that would catch the viewer’s eyes. I worked mainly with what fonts would look the greatest and which colors would look better. I simply placed the team logos on the left and added the important infor-mation on the right side of the image.

Bella Cupcake4 - p a g e w e b s i t e

Using Dreamweaver, we had to create an attrac-tive website that would catch the attention of the person viewing it. I decided to base my design off a cascade style sheet, although that only provided the fonts and the menu. I would have to gather my images from the actual Bella Cupcake website and also include all the major bits of informa-tion I could find from the site itself, as well as the Facebook page. Finally, I created a banner in Flash that would attract the viewer into viewing the rest of the website.
