Our Time Here

From the moment we first walked in the door, this house felt like a proper family home and exactly the type of place that we wanted to raise our children. The location and proximity to three wonderful beaches as well as all the facilities that a family could need were deciding factors and we’ve lived here very happily for the past 34 years. We spend most of our time in the kitchen, as many families do! It’s large enough to house a kitchen table so that everyone can be together while cooking dinner or doing homework. The whole house has a wonderful comfortable feel to it and you feel at ease and peaceful wherever you are. We have very good neighbours, which gives a real sense of community here. It’s a very safe and quiet area, yet within easy walking distance of the local shops, schools and three beaches as well as many other amenities. It’s an ideal place for children in this respect, being safe when they are younger and allowing them independence as they grow up. We like the fact that you can stroll to Dreamland from the house, take seaside walks, or even be in the countryside after a very short trip in the car! We’ve loved living here, and the children have had wonderful childhoods growing up. We love this house, and we will miss the warm and welcoming feel of home that it has provided us over the years. Now that our children have their own houses (on the surrounding avenues!) we have decided to downsize, and hope to stay in the immediate area.

The ground floor accommodation comprises of a good-sized entrance porch with custom made curved wooden door, a light and spacious living room with distant side sea views, a good-sized family kitchen with original stained-glassed window in the door, a W.C also with stained-glassed detail within the door and a dining room with gas fire leading to a conservatory with triple aspect windows overlooking the garden. The master bedroom boasts sea views to the side and the two back bedrooms offer views over the good-sized garden. Externally to the front, the property offers off street parking for two vehicles as well as a garage, with side access to the large rear garden, with patio area, a lawned area and a BBQ area perfect for entertaining. There is also a summerhouse with electricity. The property is found just off the seafront and within easy access to the shops and sandy beaches in both Westgate and Margate.
