Greetings from Fort Worth!
Howdy! I’m Daisy R. M. Dillo* from friendly Fort Worth, Texas. You might know my cousins Armin and Amador.
*from (Dasypus novemcinctus) nine-banded armadillo
cowboys, culture, change—
I’m so excited that all you Health Science Librarians are coming to Fort Worth October 26-30, 2013 for the big annual SCC/MLA meeting!
I want to give you just a peek of some of the amazing sights that await you in Fort Worth.

Here I am at the Fort Worth Hilton, the SCC/MLA 2013
meeting venue.
The hotel staff are really friendly and ready to welcome
you!
This JFK Tribute is right around the corner from the
hotel.
While you are in downtown Fort Worth
you’ll see some beautiful buildings and
a lot of change underway.
I never get tired of looking at those Bass Performance
Hall angels. They’re so beautiful.
Just a short ride north of downtown
you’ll find the famous Fort Worth
Stock Yards.
There are plenty of places to get a drink……
…find some interesting eats…
…watch a rodeo, or…
…catch a ride on a longhorn.
Here’s where we’re going Monday night for the big
SCC 40th Anniversary Celebration.
That’s the Will Rogers Auditorium in the background. There are a lot of museums around
here.
Yikes! I think that dinosaur at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History
wants some armadillo for lunch!
This is me climbing the sculpture at the Modern
Art Museum of Fort Worth. The Kimbell Art Museum is right across
the street. So much culture…
Here’s where Dan and his posse hang out… and
where the SCC/MLA 2013 LAC has been gathering to
plan all the fun you’re going to have in
Fort Worth.
Here’s where some of the other Fort Worth Health Science Librarians work.
I’ve enjoyed giving you this quick look
atcowboys, culture,
change—I can’t wait to see ya’ll in Fort Worth
in October .
