andextendsideandbottomrootsfromtherootball.Cutanyrootscirclingtherootballwithasharptool.

• Placetherootballonthepedestalsotherootcrown(wherethetrunkmeetstheroots)isabout1½inchesabovethesurroundinggroundlevel.

• Placetheexistingsoilbackinthehole.Donotplacegrassorweedsinthehole.Whenbackfillingthehole,avoidairpocketsbylightlytamping,butdon’tcompactthesoil.Refilltheholeonlyuptothetopoftherootball.

• Spreadmulchina4-footdiameteraroundyourtree,4to6inchesawayfromthetrunk,and6inchesdeep.

• Deeplywateryournewlyplantedtreeafterplanting.• Addyourtreestoour5MillionTreeCounteratsactree.com.
