Greening Kroeber Purpose To create public awareness in Kroeber Hall about water, energy, paper towel usage, and toxics in art materials through stickers, signage, posters, newsletters, blogs, flyers, and other marketing tools. Each theme includes a 1. large color poster , 2. matching postcard (with 10 facts & tips), and 3. sustainability board update . The print materials will be posted and distributed around Kroeber while the sustainability board update occurs on the Mezzanine Level. Execution Before: Installation of new, permanent signage. Previous signage was printer paper and not durable. After: New signs will last longer and less resources will be used in the long run. Left: Postcards with chocolate. Right: Sustainability Board. Beginning-of-the-year surveys ( 85 Kroeber respondents ) were handed out to students and found that: 86% dont know the UCB GHG emission target of 1990 levels by 2014. 92% dont know how to report leaky faucets. 69% dont know that plastics have recycling numbers. 85% of students dont know what plastics are recyclable at UCB & in the City of Berkeley.
