    Daily Prayers:

Sunday: For God to raise up more volunteers to work with AOHE ona regular basis and/or at one-time outreach events in big cities. Volun-teers form a critical part of AOHEs mission force.

Monday: For the outreach events in urban centers to strengthen thefaith of volunteers who step out to share Jesus with strangers. Pray alsothat those who hear the Gospel from these volunteers and the materialsthat they distribute would consider the claims of Bible.

Tuesday: With thanksgiving for all of the Jewish people who have

come to a believing relationship with Christ through AOHE and otherministries, and who now testify in His name to their fellow Jews.

Wednesday: That the Holy Spirit would open the hearts and minds ofJewish people around the world to see that the Messiah, Jesus Christ, has already come, and invites them into communion with God the Fa-ther through Him.

Thursday: That Christians around the world would bear loving wit-ness to Jewish people as they celebrate Christmas, and would be able tograciously but confidently point to Jesus Christ as the true Messiah.

Friday: For Lutherans in Jewish Evangelism (LIJE), another missionsociety that focuses in reaching out to Jewish people.

A READING FROM THE BOOK OF CONCORD

4TH SUNDAY IN ADVENTFORMULA OF CONCORD, EPITOMEARTICLE VIII: THE PERSON OF CHRIST

The divine and human natures in Christ are personally united. Sothere are not two Christs, one the Son of God and the other theSon of Man. But one and the same person is the Son of God andSon of Man (Luke 1:35; Romans 9:5).

The divine and human natures are not mingled into one sub-stance,

nor is one changed into the other. Each keeps its own essentialproperties, which can never become the properties of the othernature.

The properties of the divine nature are these: to be almighty, eternal, infinite, and to be everywhere present, to knoweverything, and so on. These never become properties of thehuman nature.

The properties of the human nature are to be a bodily creature,to be flesh and blood, to be finite and physically limited, to

suffer, to die, to ascend and descend, to move from one place toanother, to suffer hunger, thirst, cold, and the like. Thesenever become properties of the divine nature.

The two natures are united in one person. This union is not thekind of joining together and connection that prevents eithernature from having anything in common with the other person-ally.It is not like when two boards are glued together, where neithergives anything to the other or takes anything from the other. But here is described the highest communion that God truly has

    with the man. (paragraphs 5-9)
