Main difference between technologies: electrolyte and ions transferred (OH- / H+/ O2-)
Three main technologies in water electrolysis:
• Alkaline Water Electrolysis (AWE) with a liquid, alkaline electrolyteat temperatures between 40 °C and 90 °C
• Proton Exchange Membrane / Polymer Exchange Membrane (PEM) Electrolysiswith a proton conductive solid polymer electrolyte at temperatures between 20 °C and 100° °C
• High-temperature electrolysis (HTEL) with a solid oxide electrolyzer cell (SOEC)at temperatures between 700 °C and 1000 °C, fed with water vapor

• To mitigate Global warming effects, currently lot of efforts are being put to make RenewableEnergy.
• Hydrogen which has traditionally been associated with high carbon emissions, but productionusing renewable electricity - Water electrolysis, it can be completely de-carbonized.
• Hydrogen can make energy Storable and easily Transportable.
• Energy-intensive industries will have the opportunity to reduce their carbon intensity by usingGreen Hydrogen.
• Green Hydrogen can play big role in mitigation of from CO2 Industries for making usefulChemicals and help to achieve Carbon Neutral status.
• thyssenkrupp has technologies for both production of Green Hydrogen via Water Electrolysis anddownstream Chemical value chain.
