Italy’s leadership allows Ecomondo-Key Energy to be positioned as the key green economy expo internationally. All leading companies operating in this industry have the chance to meet and discover the latest trends on green technologies, benefit from new opportunities and stay up to date with the greatest innovations.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY STORIES

The New Economy represented through the life cycle of new material. The projects involves an exhibition area (Gallery) with a pathway of innovative projects, materials and products, which illustrate what circular economy is and how it’s expressed in a circular industry, services and goods. Through storytelling, we will aim to narrate the success stories that this innovation have generated.

ECODESIGN RAW MATERIALS

The importance of procuring and recycling materials for a sustainable circular economy: Ecomondo takes up the challenge, tracing out the path for the development of innovative and sustainable technologies with the aim of reducing the dependence of the European manufacturing industry on foreign procurement.

HYDROGEOLOGICAL RISK AND DISASTER PREVENTION

The new sector of Ecomondo dedicated to systems and solutions for preventing hydrogeological risk and major climate-related risks, flooding and coastal erosion.

BIOMETHANE

Ecomondo confirms its position as the reference event for the renewable gas industry; The Ministry of Economic Development’s recent publication of the decree to support the production of biomethane is a new decisive event in terms of the development of this energy carrier, able to add flexibility to the national system, since it can be used to produce electrical and heat energy and an advanced biofuel.

The path aims to trace out the entire Italian circular bioeconomy chain, showcasing Italian excellence, involving and linking the worlds of Agriculture → Infrastructure → Bioproducts → Bioplastic converters → Large-scale retail and big brands → End of life → Research&Development → Communication and popularisation, to let operators see up close how much Italy has already achieved and can achieve in this sector.

Key Energy, the renewable energy expo,is the Expo for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Mobility, where you can find industrial solutions and innovative applications also in an urban context, within the special Sustainable City project.

THE FOCUSES:

Is the main event of the Mediterranean basin dedicated to Wind power solutions. It hosts the main operators and producers of technologies for large, medium and small wind energy plants, on-shore and off-shore; in partnership with ANEV, the Italian Wind Energy Association, which collaborates to develop the sector in Italy, in terms of content, training, information and design.

Is the appointment for the solar and photovoltaic sector, where the most important operators present their technological innovations and debate the solutions for optimal plant management.

A meeting point for producers, funding bodies and industries which operate in the fields of technology, systems and solutions for the smart use of energy at industrial and residential level. The project was created in partnership with ENEA (Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development) and in collaboration with FIRE and other associations.

Is the in-depth exhibition section dedicated to storing energy from renewable sources. The project showcases Energy Storage Systems: the key technology for development in the direction of models of energy sharing and the creation of a smart energy community.

Città Sostenibile (the Sustainable City) is a special project launched in 2009 as a laboratory for active, participatory ideas. The aim of this project is to put the service for the public and business under the spotlight. Bringing companies that offer innovative services and integrated technologies together with local authorities, the project will help guiding the transformation of our towns and cities towards a circular model. A city ever more circular, with a path from the environment and positive management of the area to the destination of quality of life for the public.

The exhibition area will have 3 macro sectors:• Urban innovation: urban regeneration, recovery of existing assets, cultural

heritage, efficient public lighting, green areas for mitigating climate concerns, co-working areas and spaces for sport and wellness.

• Mobility innovation: presentation of examples and solutions for interconnected mobility and efficient transport systems from the perspective of energy and zero emissions. On show will be all players in the supply chain, from producers of vehicles, technologies and infrastructure, sharing and interoperability systems, green infrastructure, cycle paths, smart stations, for passengers and goods, with the aim of highlighting new models of consumption and lifestyles.

• Digital innovation: home automation, monitoring systems, smart grids, how digitalization has an impact in business models.

Circular Smart City Information, Training, FutureKey Energy provides thorough, in-depth research and content analyses of all recently-adopted directives and resulting scenarios regarding the fields of renewable energy and new circular cities.

Ecomondo-Key Energy is organised by Italian Exhibition Group, the trade fair and congress top player.

Ecomondo-Key Energy takes place in the modern Rimini trade fair district, built for low environmental impact, with extensive green areas, photovoltaic plants, predominantly natural lighting and LED floodlights and fountains featuring water recycling.

The whole district, distinguished by UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 certification, features green management, with solutions for light, water and heat sources that permit great energy savings.

The Rimini district, located in the Centre of Italy, is easy to reach from all over the country and from abroad and has a dedicated railway station on the Milan–Bari line. The district is 120 km (about an hour by car) from Bologna international airport.
