• from 1250 B.C. to 1210 B.C..• it was in the bronze age.• the war began after the abduction of Queen

Helen of Sparta.• Helen’s jilted husband Menelaus convinced his

brother Agamemnon, the king of Mycenae at the time, to lead the expedition to get Helen back.

• Agamemnon was joined by the Greek heroes.

First Messenian War

• The war was around 740 B.C. to 710 B.C..• It was the Spartans against the fellow Dorians

that lived in Messenia .• The First Messenian war was the longest in

Greek history.

Second Messenian War

• From 640 B.C. to 630 B.C..• It was Spartans vs. Messenian rebels.• The casualties are unknown .• The reason for the war is the Messenians

wanted their land back.

• The war happened in 499B.C to 479B.C..• The war was between the Greeks and

Persians.• At this point in time Persia was one of the

largest empire in the world.• But Greek defied the odd and push the Persian

army back into Asia.

• This war happened in 460B.C. to 445B.C..• It was the Athens vs. Sparta.• The number of casualties is unknown at the

time.• At the end of the First Peloponnesian War the

Athens fell.

Peloponnesian War

• The Second Peloponnesian War happened in 431 B.C. to 404 B.C..

• Greek had low military technology at the time of this war

• So the Greek city-states formed the Delian League.• The purpose of the Delian League was to put money

into a shared treasury.• It took money to make weapons and ships and to train

men.• The Greeks wanted to be ready to fund a war instantly
