Unfortunately, her father ate her because of his fear that his children would overthrow him.

Hera’s Rebirth When Cronus and Rhea had

their last child Zeus, Rhea hid him from Cronus by wrapping a rock in a cloth to trick Cronus into thinking that he ate Zeus. Rhea hid him on the island of Crete. When Zeus was old enough he forced Cronus to disgorge his siblings and together they defeated Cronus.

Since Callisto’s family was know to be ruthless and untrustworthy, he disguised himself as a humble workman to investigate their behavior. When he was there he saw Lycaon make a human sacrifice on his alter. This made him furious and in result he shot lightning blots at them instantly killing them.

The Myth of Callisto Cont. Callisto was extremely furious about what Zeus

had done to her family, she sought revenge with Artemis (the goddess of hunt). Zeus found Callisto sleeping in the forest and disguised himself as Artemis and succeeded in seducing Callisto resulting in a pregnancy.

The birth of Callisto's baby upset Hera so much that she attacked Callisto and turned her into a bear. Callisto's mind remained human but she could not talk.

People say that the great bear constellation in the sky is a result of Hera's revenge on Callisto.
