As a father of two, my wife Jamie and I are constantly focused on our roles as parents and what Olivia (4 years) and Nicholas (8 weeks) will need to grow up in an environment that supports their holistic development. Jamie and I, as I am sure all of you, understand that many children in our community may not be as fortunate, and we believe that we must do whatever it takes to ensure EVERY child has access to similar opportunities.

Our Club’s core value is to pursue greatness, in everything we do, for the kids, families, and communities we serve. Over the past year, we have worked hard to realize this value by completing our Pursuing Greatness Campaign, which created a $7.1 million investment into the five cities we serve and extensive renovations and expansion of service at our Clubs in Costa Mesa, Irvine, Newport Beach, and Santa Ana.

Through this investment, we will serve hundreds more youth each year, unlocking the power of mentors, engaging more 21st century skills, ensuring every child is on a path to high school graduation and higher education, providing health and recreational activities, building stronger social-emotional skills, and building an environment that fosters a sense of curiosity, exploration, discovery, and FUN!

While we are extremely proud of this investment and what it will mean for the communities we serve, our shared work is not done. We have already seen an increased demand for all of our services. Overall, the Club will serve 9,500 youth across five cites at our Clubs and 62 school-based partner sites. Of those we serve, approximately 87% are considered low income, and 61 of our school sites are Title 1 schools based on the low-income population of the student body. We continue to invest our resources in the areas of greatest need where we feel we can deliver the biggest impact through mentorship, and we thank you for your partnership in this endeavor.

We are excited about the relaunch of our Clubs and all that we have accomplished this year; we are even more excited about the work that continues us all forward. We are grateful to the partners who have chosen to invest in our pursuit of greatness, and we thank you for believing in the potential of EVERY child we serve.

A Letter From Robert Santana

Our family of Clubs is united under one mission...one vision...one core value.

MissionTo ensure every child has mentors and champions in life.

VisionAll children will build positive life-long memories, achieve their greatest potential and inspire future generations.

Core ValuePursue greatness.

We believe greatness exists in every child, and through the power of positive mentorship, we can change a child’s trajectory for a lifetime. Our goal is to help our youth reach their full potential by ensuring they have access to the tools they need to pursue greatness. To the core of our DNA, we believe every child and teen we serve has the potential to do great things, and it is our privilege to invest in opportunities to help them unlock that potential. Our passion for our mission grows with every youth who overcomes an obstacle, achieves success in school, discovers his or her voice, and unlocks his or her greatness.

This year, thanks to tremendous donor and community

support, we completed our Pursuing Greatness Campaign –

a $7.1 million total investment into all our Boys & Girls Club

locations – which has enabled us to create multiple learning

environments for 21st century education and mentorship.

The recent re-opening of our Clubs marked the culmination

of the nearly two-year campaign, successfully transforming

each site to accommodate the growing needs of the

communities they serve while positively impacting the youth

in our service areas for generations to come.

Our Clubs are now better equipped to educate youth for the careers of the 21st century while continuing to advance the IMPACT Model that motivates members to graduate on time, plan for their futures, and prepare for success. Each Club was redeveloped to:

• Facilitate mentoring and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) education

• Enhance safety, aesthetics, and usability

• Implement new technologies and infrastructure

• Design flexible space for increased capacity and family and community programming

• Expand and upgrade facilities designed just for teens

With all these similarities, each Club also uniquely serves its community and is visually themed around the neighborhood in which it is located.
