The Pro event is part of a three tournament circuit featuring top American rising stars who will be vying for a wild card in the US Open main draw. The Oregon Tennis Championships annual draws 600 players vying for USTA national ranking points. Participants include top PNW Pros, up and coming pros, and outstanding collegiate players from around the country vying to get on the USTA top 500 ranking list. Nationally ranked senior players participate in the Sr. Women’s Super Category II and the Sr. Men’s Category II striving to improve their national standing. Also, recreational players participate in their own tournament during the weekend and enjoy watching the Open players compete. The USTA Pro Circuit $50,000 Women’s Challenger is part of a three tournament circuit that will determine who will receive a wild card into the main draw of the US Open in New York City for 2013. Rising American women compete alongside international tennis stars for this prestigious honor. This event will bring national and international attention to your company. Here is your company’s opportunity to join hands and take this leap of faith for our kids. The GPTC’s underlying mission is to provide quality programs for our kids and special population groups. Our USTA Community Tennis Associations flagship program is “T” for Tennis. We currently provide during school tennis classes to 550 children in Head Start programs. The Greater Portland Tennis Council is raising our game to build a bigger and brighter tennis community. We are doing things differently to help us

increase our ability to provide quality tennis programming in our community. We are moving in a direction that no other organization in the state

of Oregon is going. We are raising our game to catch a rising star. The GPTC is taking a leap of faith for our tennis community and bringing the first

ever Women’s Professional Tennis event to Portland this summer! A Women’s $50,000 USTA Pro Circuit Challenger.

By taking this step forward the GPTC is bringing two weeks of exciting and classy tennis to Oregon. The two weeks start off with the 114th

Annual Oregon Tennis Championships July 9th-14th and then slice into the Women’s $50,000 USTA Pro Circuit Challenger, which begins with the

qualifying on Sunday July 14th and concludes with the finals on Sunday July 21st. The Pro event is part of a three tournament circuit featuring top

American rising stars who will be vying for a wild card in the US Open main draw.

The Oregon Tennis Championships annual draws 600 players vying for USTA national ranking points. Participants include top PNW Pros, up and

coming pros, and outstanding collegiate players from around the country vying to get on the USTA top 500 ranking list. Nationally ranked senior

players participate in the Sr. Women’s Super Category II and the Sr. Men’s Category II striving to improve their national standing. Also, recreational

players participate in their own tournament during the weekend and enjoy watching the Open players compete.

The USTA Pro Circuit $50,000 Women’s Challenger is part of a three tournament circuit that will determine who will receive a wild card into the

main draw of the US Open in New York City for 2013. Rising American women compete alongside international tennis stars for this prestigious honor.

This event will bring national and international attention to your company.

Here is your company’s opportunity to join hands and take this leap of faith for our kids. The GPTC’s underlying mission is to provide quality

programs for our kids and special population groups. Our USTA Community Tennis Associations flagship program is “T” for Tennis. We currently

provide during school tennis classes to 550 children in Head Start programs. Our goal is to increase the number of Head Start schools that

Venues have changed (along with pant length and dress code), but what’s most important remains. For six days in July, some of the nation’s best tennis players come together to lay claim as the STATE’S ACE.

The Greater Portland Tennis Council (GPTC) has worked to continue the long tradition of crowning Oregon’s State Champion for the last 25 years. But now is the TIME TO RAISE OUR GAME. To increase our service to the community. To challenge tennis players and fans. To come together and improve the stature of our tournament. To make the Oregon Tennis Championships A CAN’T-MISS STOP for the next generation of tennis professionals.

And to begin this evolution, the Tennis Championships of Oregon has transformed into the Oregon Tennis Championships. But it takes more than a new name or logo to realize a mission. It takes vision, volunteers, and the active involvement of our sponsors. NOW IT’S YOUR SERVE.

114 YEARSForthere has been a tournament to crown a TENNIS CHAMPION OF OREGON.

The GREATER PORTLAND TENNIS COUNCIL is a non-profit Community Tennis Association, formed in 1988 to grow the game. We work to inspire players of all abilities.

The GPTC’s most important efforts SUPPORT PORTLAND’S YOUTH. We focus on children and school-based programs to INSTILL CONFIDENCE and IMPROVE

THE HEALTH of our kids. We want to harness the game of tennis to build a brighter future in our hometown.

The GPTC is led by an all-volunteer board made up of a cross-section of the Portland-Metro tennis community. Members represent public and private facilities, teaching professionals, and players at large. Together with LEGIONS OF VOLUNTEERS and community groups, the GPTC board coordinates the programs and partnerships needed.
