This is my Bible. I am what It says I am. I have what It says I have. I can do what It says I can do. Today I will be taught the Word of God. I boldly confess that my mind is alert, my heart is receptive and I will never be the same.

Little Known Black History Fact: Lia Neal and Simone Manuel

History was made over the weekend when Stanford

University women’s swimming teammates Simone

Manuel (left) and Lia Neal (right) were named to the U.S.

Women’s Olympic swim team. It is the first time two

African-American women have represented Team USA in

the swim competition for the Summer Games.

Neal, 21, and Manuel, 19, are no strangers to making

history. Last year, the pair were two of the top three

finishers in the 2015 NCAA Women’s Swimming Championships. The third, Natalie

Hinds, is also African-American.

Neal, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., appeared in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London

for Team USA. She and the 4 X 100 Meter relay team

took home the bronze medal during that year’s games.

Manuel, a Houston, Texas native, will be making her

first appearance in the Olympics and has added the 50

Meter Freestyle event to the list of events she’ll enter.

The pair will also swim together in the 4 X 100 Meter

relay.

Thank You! Dear Greater Little Zion Baptist Church,

Please accept this letter as my genuine appreciation for the hospitality that you demonstrated toward my family and me during your annual Men’s Day Celebration.

You made my Father’s Day extra special. To: Dr. and Mrs. Murphy for your continued wisdom and guidance

and to Jeri and Al Woods, thanks again for your hospitality. May God continue to bless and inspire you to become all that He created you to be.

Respectfully, Chris, Kennesha, Kennedy, Kamyrn and Christian Campbell

Thank You!

To my Greater Little Zion Church Family, Thank you for the continued support and love shown to me during my graduation. A

blessed to be a member of such a wonderful and loving church family. Please continue to keep me in your prayers.

With Love, Cayla Parson

Thank You!

Dear Greater Little Zion Baptist Church, Thank you so much for the love gifts. I will definitely use wisely, and I appreciate
