this Annual Report celebrates the most successful year in our history.

By any measure, your Chamber is on mission in strategically leading the economic

success of the Greater Conejo Valley. With members in 254 categories across 26

industries, a better-than-budget bottom line, the strong growth of the Conejo

Valley Tourism Improvement District, and the recent announcements by both the

Los Angeles Rams and the PGA Tour that they have chosen the Conejo Valley for

their training and office facilities and new addition to their tournament schedule.

Your Chamber and the premier cities we represent are poised to create ever-

greater opportunities for you to engage, lead and prosper.

JAN 2015EMERGING LEADERS The Chamber’s young professionals group, Emerging Leaders, held its first monthly mixer of the year at Lemonade Restaurant in Westlake Village with over 25 guests in attendance.

FEB 2015

NETWORKING AT NIGHT MIXERO’Gara Coach Westlake hosted the February mixer where over 200 guests had the opportunity to connect in a showroom filled with Bentley, Roll-Royce and Maserati vehicles while sampling “tastes” from local food and beverage favorites.

FIRE & ICE RECOGNTION GALAThe business community gathered to recognize outgoing Chairman Leonard Greenlee, alongside seven category award winners at the Four Seasons Hotel in Westlake Village.

PRINCIPAL FOR A HALF DAYIn partnership with Conejo Valley Unified School District, business professionals have the opportunity to shadow a school principal for the morning and then participants come together for a lunch and hear a presentation by the district’s superintendent.

APR 2015LAUNCH OF IGNITE CVIgnite CV hosted its first event, “Ask the Techperts” with a focus on the topic of crowdfunding at a local production company in an effort to support the local entrepreneurial tech community.

MAY 2015CANDIDATES FORUM FOR SPECIAL ELECTION

Candidates Forum for the City of Thousand Oaks special election featured the four candidates and over 100 attendees at California Lutheran University.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE Government Affairs Committee changed from an open to a closed committee appointed by the Chairman in order to streamline the process of taking positions on issues in a time sensitive manner.

JUN 2015DEBUT OF NEXXUS NETWORKING GROUP Nexxus is the first networking group at the Chamber that is not category exclusive. Over 150 members are part of one of the six networking groups run by the Chamber.

JUL 2015CITY INTERNSHIP PROGRAMPartnered with the City of Thousand Oaks for the second year on the CITY Internship Program that placed over 40 high school students in internships with local companies assisting schools in the area of workforce development.

AUG 2015TOURISM FEE MODIFICATION Modification passed for the Tourism Improvement District fee to change from $1 per night to 2% of room rate effective January 1, 2016; doubling the tourism budget for 2016.

SEPT 2015LEADERSHIP CONEJO The 20 participants of 2015-16 Leadership Conejo program, designed to advance leadership skills and develop a network of contacts that include leaders in the Conejo Valley, kicked off their 9-month course with a day of teambuilding activities.

OCT 20157TH ANNUAL TASTE OF CONEJOOver 100 businesses participated in the annual Taste of Conejo where over 800 guests enjoyed an all-inclusive evening of food, wine and spirit tastings paired with music and entertainment.

NOV 2015BOARD OF DIRECTORS RETREATThe Board retreat was held at Pepperdine University which included: a scavenger hunt, Year in Review, and a branding presentation by Pepperdine’s Chief Marketing Officer followed by a “Wine Safari” at Malibu Wines.

STATE OF THE CITY THOUSAND OAKSWith over 400 business & community leaders in attendance, Mayor Al Adam announced the relocation of mortgage lender PennyMac to Thousand Oaks and the addition of the first dedicated Mercedes-AMG showroom in the country to the Mercedes-Benz Thousand Oaks.

08FISCAL YEAR HIGHLIGHTS2015 Schedule

ConejoView Magazine Distributed 14,000 copies of our quarterly magazine, ConejoView, during 2015 that features a full membership directory in each issue. The magazine includes editorial content on trending business topics, advocacy efforts, and business profiles while providing over $30,000 in annual revenue for the Chamber through advertising sales.

Social Media We increased our audience on Facebook by 20%, resulting in a total of 1,195 “likes” by the end of 2015. The Chamber also has over 1,000 followers on Twitter and a presence on other social media platforms including: Instagram, Google+ and LinkedIn.

WebsiteThe Chamber’s website saw 107,193 page views from 47,714 unique visitors in 2015. By far the most popular section of the website was the business directory, which accounted for approximately half of the website traffic.

Media PartnershipsThe Chamber has media partnerships with Ventura County Star and The Acorn Newspaper. The VC Star sponsor trade agreement provides additional reach to promote Chamber events and programs in the local market and business community through advertising, while The Acorn Newspaper trade agreement provides discounted advertising to new and renewing members of the Chamber.

With more than 1,000 member companies, the Greater Conejo Valley Chamber is one of the largest regional Chambers in Southern California.

New MembersWe welcomed 209 new members this past year, the largest new member growth since 2012. Our membership currently represents more than 250 categories, from sole proprietorships to large corporations.

Renewing MembersThe Chamber saw nearly a 10% increase in the number of renewals compared to 2014, which generated $4,000 in additional revenue.

12 COMMITTEE & GROUPSCommunity, Leadership and Government Groups

Chamber Ambassadors Purpose: To welcome both old and new Chamber Members and guide them to Chamber resources that will help them grow their businesses and operate more profitably.

Government Affairs Committe Purpose: To improve the regulatory environment and grow business by working with our local, state and federal elected officials to influence policy decisions.

Legislative Roundtable Purpose: To provide a dialogue on public policy issues and an opportunity for public agency staff, elected officials, their staff and businesses to network.

Conejo Senior Resource Network (CSRN) Purpose: To create a diverse group of professionals who work with seniors and family caregivers, supporting and delivering innovative, collaborative community events designed to enhance the aging and caregiving experience in our community.

Education & Workforce Development Committee Purpose: To promote and coordinate interaction between business and local school districts (Conejo Valley Unified School District and Las Virgenes Unified School District) and continue to partner with private schools and colleges in our area; to promote educational excellence by rewarding teachers and students with awards and scholarships.

Emerging Leaders (EL) Purpose: To provide young and talented professionals in the Conejo Valley with an opportunity to network, build friendships and serve the community through various civic activities. EL is open to all professionals between the ages 21 and 39. Networking Groups Purpose: To provide Chamber members the opportunity to expand their business connections and referral network by belonging to one of six Chamber Networking Groups. Networking groups include: Synergy Business Connections, The Business Breakfast Network, Preferred Referral Alliance, GIFT for Women, Spark – Ignite Your Business and Nexxus.

Mission StatementConejo Valley Tourism serves the region’s economy, and markets the Conejo Valley as a prime vacation destination to travelers in California, the United States, and worldwide. It increases awareness of the area’s offerings, preserves its unique attributes, and invests in its growth and development.

2015 Results Currently in its third year of operation, Conejo Valley Tourism earned a total reach of 23,306,949 in 2015 through earned media coverage, blogger engagement, social media sharing and securing story angles with Visit California assets. Using a paid media strategy including search engine marketing, digital marketing, social media marketing and mobile video, Conejo Valley Tourism generated 40,960 unique visits to its website and its booking engine generated 2,526 hotel searches in 2015.

The objective of the Foundation is to promote the growth of the cities of Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village and Agoura Hills by developing leadership with a dynamic and innovative vision for the future; linking the business community in partnership with educational, governmental and nonprofit organizations; and serving as a vehicle for research, planning and community education.

In 2015, the Foundation worked closely with our three cities and two local school districts to continue programs that benefit the local community.

Spirit of Community AwardsThe annual Spirt of Community Awards recognized local law enforcement and

fire departments, military, and educators from Conejo Valley and Las Virgenes School Districts for their contributions to the community. Also recognized that evening was a Volunteer of the Year, Lynda Miller, and Nonprofit of the Year, Thousand Oaks Volunteers in Policing.

Teacher of the Month ProgramIn partnership with the local school districts, each month the Chamber’s education committee recognizes an outstanding educator in the local community and presents gifts from the local businesses community.

Leadership Conejo Twenty professionals participated in this nine-month leadership course designed to advance leadership skills and develop a network of contacts that include leaders in the Conejo Valley. The 2015-16 also spearheaded a service project at Westlake Elementary School planting new trees on campus.

Candidates Forum

The Chamber held a Candidates Forum for the City of Thousand Oaks special election to fill the vacated council seat of newly elected Assembly member Jacqui Irwin. The forum featured the four candidates and over 100 attendees at California Lutheran University on May 9, 2015.

State of the City Agoura Hills

A sold-out crowd of 200 guests gathered at the new Agoura Hills Recreation and Event Center on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 to hear the address presented by Mayor Illece Buckley Weber. At the end of the address, the Mayor announced Ladyface Ale Companie as Business of the Year for City of Agoura Hills; recognizing them for their contributions to the city and business community.

State of the City Thousand OaksOver 400 business and community leaders gathered for the State of the City Luncheon with the address presented by Mayor Al Adam at California Lutheran University on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. In his remarks, the Mayor announced the relocation of mortgage lender PennyMac to Thousand Oaks and the addition of the first dedicated Mercedes-AMG showroom in the country to the Mercedes-Benz Thousand Oaks.

The City also recognized the entire CLU Volleyball team on their historic NCAA National Championship, the first for both the university and the city. With nearly $50,000 in sponsorship support and over $30,000 in net revenue, State of the City Thousand Oaks is the second largest revenue generator of special events.

23 2015 GALA Fire & Ice Recognition Gala

Outgoing Chairman Leonard Greenlee Director, Engineering - Contract Services Americas, Baxalta

Under Leonard Greenlee’s leadership in 2015, the Chamber celebrated its 75th Anniversary; launched the Conejo Valley Tourism Improvement District; won a 6th consecutive President’s Circle Award and Cal Chamber’s Core Competency Award for Economic Development. He also presided over two States of the City, one Taste of Conejo, rode in one Parade (in a Maserati) and cheered on the Amgen Tour riders while our national TV commercial played on NBC Sports.

Corporate Sponsor of the Year Waste Management

Waste Management is truly a role model for corporate citizenship and commitment to giving back to the communities they serve. Their community outreach programs includes: landfill tours with local schools, recycling programs and charitable contributions including being part of the Chamber’s Chairman’s Club program for the past three years. Their leadership in green initiatives is in perfect partnership with the premier cities they serve.

Ambassador of the Year Dee Crawford, Community Conscience Dee has been a Chamber Ambassador since 2012 and served as vice consul general for the group in 2014. She leads by example with her infectious smile and energy for welcoming and mentoring new members of Chamber. She is passionate about creating awareness for Community Conscience, which owns and operates the "Under One Roof " Human Services Center on Hillcrest Drive that allows 12 social services agencies to operate rent free.

2015 Recognition Gala The annual Recognition Gala honors the outgoing Chairman of the Board along with six award categories. The 2015 “Fire & Ice Gala” was held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village.

Man of the YearAndy Fox, City of Thousand OaksAndy is a 30 year resident of Thousand Oaks and has served as a member of the Thousand Oaks City Council for 20 years, including 5 terms as Mayor. During that time, he has been an active supporter of the business community, open space and the Thousand Oaks Specific Plan.

Woman of the Year Karen Gabler, LightGabler LLPKaren is an employment law attorney who has been practicing locally for over 20 years. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to open her own firm, LightGabler LLP which provides education to businesses on to how to be compliant with California’s complex labor laws. She is an adjunct professor, an author and an extremely active member of the community.

Business of the Year Shoppes at Westlake Village The Shoppes at Westlake Village bought a wide selection of new shopping and dining experiences to the region and is a beautiful addition to the City of Westlake Village. The center is homegrown and carefully tended to by owner Dan Selleck who has been a quiet supporter of the community for many generations.

Volunteer of the Year Greg Milligan, Sheraton Agoura Hills HotelGreg led the Sports & Sales Committee of the Conejo Valley Tourism Improvement District from its inception and volunteers his time to help identify and attend travel conferences that are an essential part of the TID marketing strategy. In addition to his significant contribution to the tourism district, he is also an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks.
