The most famous place of England is Stratford-upon-Avon. It is a small town in

the centre of England. The town was founded about 800 years ago. Stratford-

upon-Avon has become famous as the birth place of William Shakespeare. He died there on his birthday in 1616 and was buried in the church of Stratford-upon-Avon. Stratford-upon-Avon also

attracts people from all over the world by its Royal Shakespeare Theatre –

“Globe Theater”. In this theatre only Shakespeare's plays are performed.

Westminster Abbey is a historical building and a

holy place. It was founded in 1050 as a monastery. Then it

was rebuilt. Almost every English king has been crowned in this
