Granville Towers RoomSync Instructions

(1) Please log in to your personal Facebook account. In the search bar at the top of the screen, type in

“RoomSync” (all one word).

(2) The RoomSync app will come up. Click on the “Come on in!” button.

(3) RoomSync will ask for permission to access your contact info and data. Select “Okay.”

(4) You will now begin entering in your basic information and preferences. The first thing it asks is for you to type

your name. It must appear EXACTLY as it is listed on Facebook. Click on the blue box that says, “I Agree to U-match

Terms.”

(5) The next screen that will appear asks you to join your specific network. Under the heading that says: “Step 1:

Join a community network,” you will type in “Granville Towers” and select it from the drop down box. This will allow

you to select a sub-network in Step 2. The sub-network is the specific room type you have signed a lease for during

the next academic year. Once you select a sub-network, it will ask you to enter in a passcode. This passcode can be

found on the Granville Towers RoomSync email. It will ask you again to select your room type in step 3. Select the

appropriate type from the drop down menu. Click “Next.”

(6) The following screen will ask you to select whether you are male or female and to input your email address. You

must answer these two questions. It will also ask for your Twitter handle and Instagram username. You do not have

to enter this information. Finally, there is a feedback question at the end. You may click the “Yes” or “No” button,

but this is optional as well. Then click “Next.”

(7) Now, it’s time to enter in your lifestyle preferences. The questions will ask you to indicate your preferences

based on a scale. Some of the questions include what time you go to bed (very early vs. very late), how neat you

are, etc. You will drag the red dot along the scale to indicate your preference.

(8) The next main heading you will come to is called “My Ideal Roommate.” This is very similar to the previous

section, but now you will use the drop down boxes to provide a range of preferences regarding what you would like

to see in your roommate. It will conclude by asking you about your preferences regarding smoking. Click “Next.”

(9) The next screen you will see asks you about your intended major. Once you have selected the majors that

interest you, select the blue box that says, “Save and close.”

It will also ask you about which housing option you prefer, such as coed, all-female, substance-free, etc. Again,

once you have selected all those that interest you, you will select the blue box that says, “Save and close.” Click

“Next.”

(10) In the “About Me” section, you can write a descriptive paragraph about your interests. You can also write a

paragraph about what you’re looking for in a roommate. Click “Next.” It will bring up a yellow box which tells you

that your “About Me” and “Ideal Roommate” descriptions are pending. Once they are approved, RoomSync users

will be able to use this information to see if you are a good roommate match for them. Click “Next.”

(11) RoomSync will also give you the option to update your activities and interests since other users can search for

matches by them. If you want to update any of them, click on the “Click Here” link by the section you want to

change. When you are ready to move to the next section, click “Next.”

(12) You may be brought back to the first page. If so, click “Come on in!”

(13) RoomSync is also available as an App for Android phones. This is another tool you can use to find your

roommate. Click on the “Android Market” link if you would like to download the app for your phone. When you are

ready to move on, click “Next”. It may take you back to the first page again. If it does, simply click “Come On In!”

again.

(14) We are now approaching the end of the profile creation process. From here, you will be able to find

roommates within your room type. After you have selected a roommate and suitemate(s), make sure to check the

roommate box next to the person you select as your roommate.

RoomSync will suggest roommates for you if you don’t have a roommate or suitemate in mind. Please keep in mind

that residents will gradually register for RoomSync, so the pool of residents to choose from will continue to grow.

Please check RoomSync regularly to view suggestions or to see what other residents have been added.

(15) If you continue to scroll down on the final screen, you will see all of the preferences you have selected. If any

changes need to be made to any of the previously selected items, then you select “Change” beside which preference

needs to be modified.

(16) If you would like to visit RoomSync after you have created your profile to see what other potential

roommates/suitemates are out there, please login to your Facebook. On the left side of your home screen, you will

see a list of all of your Applications. RoomSync should be listed.
