4.0 Setup ProcedureTo set up the Elastix Server for the Grandstream GXV35001. Go to the web address of the Elastix Server Login page. The web address isdetermined by the customer, for this guide we have used the IP address 192.168.1.752. On the Login page, type the username and password for an administrative user intothe Username and Password fields, see Figure 4-1. The username and password aredetermined by the customer.

3. Press Enter or click on the Submit button to go to Elastix’s Dashboard

4. Once inside, click on the PBX tab on the menu at the top of the screen

5. Click on the Submit button to add an extension, see Figure 4-3. This will take you tothe Add SIP Extension page.

6. On the Add SIP Extension page (Figure 4-4), fill in the following information:

• User Extension (301 in this example)• Display Name (‘GXV3500’ in this example)• secret (‘h7Dka3Rf9si0t’ in this example)

7. Click on the ‘Submit’ button at the end of the page. The extension will be created andyou will see the page on Figure 4-5 displaying the created extension on the right side.Click on the extension to modify it, and add the following information (Figure 4-6):

H264 is the video codec used by Grandstream GXV3500 on default settings.

8. Click on “Submit” button at the end of the page, and you will see a similar page onFigure 4-5 displaying the “Apply Configuration Changes Here” pink ribbon on top ofthe screen. Click on there to apply changes.

9. Repeat steps 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 to configure the Video Call IP Phone. Use a differentextension and a secure password.

10. Finally, you should have something like seen in Figure 4-7.

12. Edit the file by adding the following information (Figure 4-9):

13. When finish, click on “Save” and “Reload Asterisk” button in that order.

14. With this you have finished configuring Elastix Server. Now we will set theGrandstream GXV3500.

To register the Grandstream GXV3500, you will need to enter the information from theextension created on the Elastix Server into the encoder by logging into theGrandstream GXV3500 WebUI.

Go to the Grandstream GXV3500’s WebUI by pointing your browser to its IP address.

18. Configure the Video Call IP (SIP) Phone with the correct parameters. Make sure tospecify in the Phone Settings the H264 video codec configured previously in the ElastixServer.

19. To test the Grandstream GXV3500, pick up the previously configured video Call IP(SIP) Phone and call the Grandstream GXV3500’s extension number (301 in thisexample). When the call is established you should be able to watch through the analogcamera.
