North Cariboo Christian School Grande News News so big it’s GRANDE (Grahn-DAY!) Issue #1: Winter 16/17 NCCS: 2016-2017 This year started off well with the Terry Fox Run, the Christmas Craft fair and Christmas Concert. This year we raised $799 as a whole to send to the Terry Fox Foundation. Also the Christmas Concert was absolutely phenomenal this year. The school really came together to make it work. Our school is a great example to our community and a light in Quesnel. God has done wonderful things so far this year and I know that he will do many, many more things in the coming months and years. -Sara Englund Rose’s Column Rose Englund asked NCCS students, “Which hot lunch was your favourite?” Gr. BasketBall practices are on Mondays for girls and Tuesdays for boys. Mrs.Blackwell and Mrs. Klassen kindly volunteered to coach the basketball team.

Interview with Mrs. Blackwell -by Josh B & Sterling Q) So how long have you been playing basketball? A) I played middle school, high school and college basketball. Q) How do you like coaching the team? A) It is early in the season but I am enjoying it so far. Q)How do you think volleyball went? A)Volleyball went incredibly well! We finished the season as champions. Q) Why do you coach? A) I coach because it is a way to show my talents and share them with my students. Q) What are yours goals for this season? A) My goals for the season are to improve the basketball program at nccs and instill a love for sports in all my students.

November 25, 2016 Is the date North Cariboo Christian School captured the C.I.S.S volleyball championship! This event happened at Williams Lake and they played against four teams: Maranatha, Adventist Academy, Sacred Heart ,and St. Ann's. NCCS tied the first round and won the second round with St.Ann’s and Maranatha. Then it was time for the Gold Medal Match. NCCS won the first round but sadly lost the second round. The third and last round was intense but NCCS won by three points. They went home with a banner of VICTORY! SPORTS NEWS FROM OUTSIDE SCHOOL: Jose Antonio Bautista Santos, a professional baseball player who plays the position of right field and DH is looking at a contract with the MLB team Toronto Blue Jays.

Church Events Friday January 13th at Bethel Church, there was a church group gathering to sing and pray. One of the teachers from this school sang up on stage it was Ms. McGowan. A few people from our school could be seen there singing and praying along. Ms. Sargent and Ms. Klassen. Three people are known to have been healed at this church gathering.
