Who Vs. WhomWhom always works as an object in a sentence, whereas who always works as a subject.

For example:Whois that masked man?The men, four ofwhomare ill, were indicted for fraud.

But who isnt always the main subject of the sentencehow do you determine which to use then?

This is because who directly references the main subject of the sentence, and could even substitute for it in a question:Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States.Who was the third president of the United States? (answer = Thomas Jefferson)

5Who Vs. WhomWhom is used in situations referencing the object of a situation or action:Mrs. Dagobert consulted an astrologerwhomshe met in Seattle. She met him in Seattle.Whom can we turn to in this time of crisis? We can turn to her.

Frame a response or question to the sentence: If you can use he/she, WHO is correct. If you can use him/her, WHOM is correct.
