everyone and well done!

HAVE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS BREAK
I wish all the Daylesford, Drummond & Yandoit Primary
School Communities a wonderful, relaxing and fun
filled Christmas break. What a year! Not only has it
been extremely busy but the opportunities that have
been presented to all children have been rich with a
supportive educational platform of achievement.
When you consider all the activities made available for
children to celebrate and achieve, all school
communities should be very proud. I would like to
congratulate all the students, staff and families for
their support and encouragement throughout 2017.
Always the intention has been to advocate for the
school children and communities at each of our
annexes and Daylesford Primary School and I
congratulate everyone for doing so.
I wish you all a safe break and we will see our Gr3-6
students here on Wednesday the 31st of January 2018.
Our Foundation-Gr2 students will commence on
Thursday the 1st of February 2018.
Enjoy your holidays

Final Sports Report for 2017! What a year! Reflecting back over the last eleven months, I am amazed and very proud of the success students have experienced. This is not only related to students progressing through the various levels of cross country, athletics, swimming and T20 cricket but also personal success. For me every person who achieved success through finishing, improving on or simply participating in sports is a winner. Well done to all the students for 2017!
To help to allow the students to experience success, there has been an enormous support from parents, students and teachers. Thank you all so much! Finally, a huge thankyou to Sherilee for the support and organisation she does. Without her, it would be a more difficult task to achieve. Thankyou Sherilee. Finally, have a great Christmas and a relaxing holiday to you all. Look forward to 2018!
Thanks, Andrew Kiellerup

RRRR - RESILIENCE, RIGHTS AND RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS is all about Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). This is linked to our current practices in our Families Program.
Our research tells us that Social and Emotional Learning helps our students to succeed in school, at work and in life.
In schools, this helps students with their decision making, awareness of self and others and self-regulation. Kids who are self-aware and confident try harder and handle failure better, developing resilience. Children with these emotional assets have academic results that are proven to be better.
SEL has a positive impact on mental and physical health. It can reduce emotional distress and increase self-esteem.
The RRRR (Resilience , Rights and Respectful Relationships) program is a Government initiative linked to the Victorian Curriculum. It is being trialled in 2017 and will be implemented in all classes in 2018.
We are very fortunate to be in a LEAD SCHOOL position. Our team members have received important and relevant training that will assist our school and other schools in the area to successfully deliver this RRRR program.
A parent/community information evening is planned for MONDAY 5th Feb 2018, Daylesford Primary School Gym @ 5.30-6.30pm. All welcome.
