IntroductIon
Tsinghua University is widely acknowledged as one of the most prestigious universities that hold the greatest strengths in China. Over the years, it has been ranked first in China in the numbers of academicians affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Science and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, of the top disciplines on the whole, of the Key National Laboratories, of national awards in science and technology, of research funds, and also of articles indexed in SCI, EI and ISTP.
In the academic year 2013-2014, Tsinghua University offers 99 master’s degree programs and 78 Ph.D. programs to International Students, which cover a variety of academic fields such as sciences, engineering, humanities and arts, history, philosophy, economics, management, law, education and medicine. Among those, there are 11 Master programs and one Doctoral program delivered in English. The graduate programs in English are developed delicately for the students who are skilled in English but do not have Chinese language proficiency. The unique features and high quality make the programs attractive since their establishment several years ago. The Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) in Chinese Law program at Tsinghua Law School is designed and offered exclusively for foreign law students and legal professionals. This doctoral program is usually completed no less than 3 years.

The School of Architecture at Tsinghua University is the first in China to offer an accredited Master degree to international students. The ICPM program aims to broaden and deepen students’ knowledge of contemporary issues in the leadership, strategic management, and delivery of international projects to provide value to stakeholders and society as a whole. The unique characteristic of this program is to expose students to a new way of thinking, and to create awareness of how Chinese organizations operate, manage, and delivery projects in the fast-changing world. The Master of Law Program (LL.M. Program) In Chinese Law at Tsinghua Law School is the first formal legal educational program at the graduate level in China, which is designed and offered exclusively for foreign law students and legal professionals. It is believed that the best way of studying the legal system of a foreign country is to stay and live in the society while studying the rules and legal operations in that society. Therefore, this LL.M. The department of Industrial Engineering (IE) of Tsinghua University has been ranked No. 1 in China and has achieved an international reputation for quality and excellence in research and education. The IE department has started to offer an international Master program since 2001. Nearly 40 international students are enrolled in this program each year, and most of them are from Europe.
