Welcome from the Director On behalf of the International Office and the Office of the
Provost, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Northwestern
University. Now that you have arrived, we look forward to
working with each of you and providing you with the support
you need to accomplish your academic goals. We offer a variety
of educational, social and recreational programs throughout the
year; they are designed to enhance your educational experience

Reception @ Hilton Orrington Hotel Welcome Reception will be held at the Hilton Orrington in
downtown Evanston with the reception beginning at 5:30pm
and ending at 7:30pm. Look for International Office Staff
carrying purple balloons as they lead you to the Hilton by foot.
If you already have your Wildcard, you can take the Intercampus
Shuttle. The Intercampus Shuttle picks up at Sheridan and
Noyes, across the street from Tech. The shuttle departs at 5:09
pm and 5:24 pm.

difference between “football” and “soccer”? This session will dig into
American slang, idioms and unique customs. Practice new vocabulary and
ask questions!

downtown Evanston with the reception beginning at 5:30pm
and ending at 7:30pm. Look for International Office Staff
carrying purple balloons as they lead you to the Hilton by foot.
If you already have your Wildcard, you can take the Intercampus
Shuttle. The Intercampus Shuttle picks up at Sheridan and
Noyes, across the street from Tech. The shuttle departs at 5:09
pm and 5:24 pm.
