ABOUT THE COURSE
Play Therapy is a counselling method for

way of expression, play! This course is
suitable for graduates who work in the field of
education, teaching, health, medicine,
nursing, allied health, psychology, child care
or social work.
This certificate is designed for anybody with
an already known skillset of working with
families and children, The certificate will
provide basic complimentary skills using play
as a therapeutic method of treatment for
multiple child mental health conditions in a
counselling setting. Graduates will be able to
demonstrate an understanding in Play
Therapy theory and principles whilst having
the ability to apply therapeutic skills within a
cultural and social, ethical framework,
including developmental stages of children
and working with family systems. Completion
of this course satisfies eligibility into the
Graduate Diploma of Play Therapy course
where students can then go on to learn
broader aspects of child mental health and
wellbeing including therapeutic parenting.
