Grades K-12 Dear Educators, We are a non-profit organization committed to “forest focused

environmental education”. We offer curriculum related programs through interactive fieldtrips and classroom

presentations to schools and community groups. We also create programs specifically for teacher workshops or your

Our Region

The Lesser Slave Forest Education Society covers an extensive region from High Prairie east, to Slave Lake and Smith, and north to Wabasca. There are 7

school districts in the region and 24 schools currently served by the society.

Fieldtrip that focuses on decomposition in the forest

and natural recyclers.

data on soils, plants and animals in a forest ecosystem.

This program focuses on how the boreal forest is managed

Grade 8- Freshwater Ecosystems

Students will go to a marsh to investigate invertebrates and other wildlife dependent on

freshwater ecosystems.

of forest ecosystems and compare biodiversity factors between them.
