Wolfville School Grade 7 Students work together to prove ³WE´ Can Do It! Grade 7 students at Wolfville School put empowerment into practice as part of their Social Studies curriculu m. In September 2011, students decided to become a ³ WE´ School and make a positive difference in their community and their world. To become a ³WE´ school, students must demonstrate that they are good global citizens  by committing to bot h a local and an internationa l cause. The group selected the Wolfville Area Food Bank and raising money for clean water for children and families in Sierra Leone as their projects. In October, the students got off to a great start with a very successful school-wide food drive. They  personally delivered more than 1,350 food items and took the opportunity to tour the food bank and ask questions of food bank volunteers to learn more about how it works. ³Vow of Silence Day´ was their first initiative in support of clean water for kids and families in Sierra Leone. On November 30, 2011, about 150 students from grades 3 to 8 paid money for buttons and collected pledges to remain silent for the day.

Grade 7 students at Wolfville School put empowerment into practice as part of their Social Studies curriculum. In September 2011, students decided to become a ³WE´

School and make a positive difference in their community and their world.

³WE´ Schools inspire and encourage students to learn about social issues and social justice, and then support the students as they turn their enthusiasm into life-changingaction.

Sporting ³I AM SILENT´ buttons,students showed their support for children around the world who haveno voice and no rights. In addition to

raising awareness of children¶s issues,over $1,200 was raised.
