Teaching Procedure
Sing with the video to learn a new song and warm up your voice.
Activity #1: Warm Up Your Voice By Learning “Bought Me A Cat”
Watch the video to learn how to sing the solfege for “Bought Me A Cat”
Activity #2: Learn How to Sing “Bought Me A Cat” in Solfege
Print the Animal Cards or save paper and ink and draw your own!
Activity #3: Print or Draw Animal Cards!
Listen to “Bought Me A Cat” and put your cards in order as you sing the song.
Activity #4: Listen to “Bought Me A Cat” and Sequence Your Cards As You Sing
Find instruments or make some to play each animal’s sound with the music.
Activity #5: Choose Homemade Instruments To Play Each Animal’s Sound
Sing and play your instrument with the song!
Activity #6: Sing and Play the Song with the Video
Repetition is one of the ways that we learn something well.
Children improve singing on pitch, learn the lyrics and melody better with each repetition.
Children will develop their musicality if you sing, move, play more often!
Keep a list of the songs and activities that you like.
Activity #11: Review last week’s module, or any of the songs you like!
Assessment may not be required for your school or district.
