7 Habits at Home The following is a suggested reading list for Habit 2: Begin With the End in Mind
Whistle for Willie by Ezra Jack Keats
Peter wants to be able to whistle for his dog but, try
as he might, he just can’t do it. Throughout the story,
Peter is a leader and continues to try to reach his end
in mind. Children will relate to the story as they are
also acquiring new skills.
The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle
Throughout the story, the determined spider spins her
web. She has an end in mind—to finish her web and
catch a fly for dinner.
Congratulations to our Stars
of the Week!

Science Fact from Ms Ziogos
If you lay a potted plant on its side for a week,
something amazing happens. The plant’s stem will
turn upwards! Plants have a chemical called auxin.
This makes plant cells grow long. Gravity pulls the
auxin down. This builds up along the bottom of the
stem. The cells grow longer where the auxin build-up
makes the stem turn upward.
Other reminders/notices
Parktone has entered into a competition for a Leader

the finalists.

winning. Voting is open now but closes 17th October.
