Some volcanic ash clouds can get as high as 4 kilometres, some 10 kilometres!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2. Famous Volcanoes 3. MOUNT VESUVIUSMount Vesuvius erupted in AD 79 killingaround 2000 people. Before the eruption happened, the city ofPompeii was celebrating the festival of theroman god of fire (Vulcan), when it hadpassed - BOOM Vesuvius erupted buryingthe city of Pompeii in ash and pumice. MountVesuvius is a strato volcano. 4. MOUNT TAMBORAMount Tambora is an active stratoconevolcano, located on the island of Sumbawa,Indonesia. Mount Tambora is 4,300 m high,making this volcano one of the tallest peaksin the Indonesian archipelago. 5. TECHTONIC PLATES!The earths surface is made up out of large techtonic plates, a little like a jigsaw puzzle. These plates are constantly travelling, moving a few centimetres a year.
